i can't wait to play this game!  But I need to finish Borderlands 2.  Maybe when I get my surgery in December I'll grab it during the recovery.

Is it experimental beard reduction surgery?

Sinus surgery.  I have a nasal polyp combining with a bone spur brought on by a broken nose 12 years ago to occlude my right cheek sinus.

Only a 43 minute surgery and 3 day recovery with pain treatable with over the counter medication.  They recommend a week off though so I will take that!

I just got lured into a massive muton ambush by sectoids. I was wondering why it was so easy and then bam, 9 mutons at once.

That's a match that is getting reloaded after they gunned down my top men/women.
I thought he should act responsibly and just kill himself.

I love my Sniper. He's a Colonel now, and I chose the ability to shoot twice per turn (1 turn cooldown). Combined with his ridiculous accuracy this guy is dropping opponents like crazy.

I also lack a couple of engineers for my next uplink facility. Was about to lose China and Japan... Luckily, I had a terror mission in India about 3 days out from months end, reducing panic all over the continent when I finished it. Close call, but so far no nation has gotten out of the program.

sneaky bastards!

I'm getting a lot of patroling enemies as well, so the reviews saying they don't patrol is a joke.

What has the patriarchy gotten to that you must now "borrow" this arcane technology from a "woman", and not merely take it as your right as male leader of the household.

What can you expect from a country ruled by a queen?

12 mutons and 2 outsiders, with one major and 5 squaddies. Damn that was hard.

Then I only had 3 soldiers left un-harmed so I had to skip a bomb disposal, and now I will lose the uk, russia and egypt at the month.

but, the day before the council will convene I am able to do a base assault, and the only ranked soldier I am missing is my high level assault.

so X-Com is the new thing in this community? is it worth the $50 price tag?  Though I should probably save my money for a bed.

My steam name is Thundercake, funny how that works. I play xcom, shogun 2 (both fall and rise), ftl, civ 5, and medieval 2 on steam at the moment. Add me if you like and if I am online, lets play some multi.

So what you're saying is that I'm right and the game will be the best thing since AC2?

The fact that its not based in Venice mean that is impossible.

Another great thing about X-Com, Amazon gave me a 10 Euro refund on it as the price has lowered after the release.

Great game...even cheaper.

I had that one.  Almost the same.  My nose came from catching a board on the nose while building a tree house.

The surgery is not big deal, pain was not bad.  But the recovery blows and takes forever.  Well, it might be better now but when I did it... it was aweful.  Nose packing is the devil, the devil is say!

A quick check of sales charts in Germany has it looking pretty solid. Top 4 in almost every one. I'm no expert, but I think that's good for a turn based strategy game!

How to take out berserkers with ease.

get high ranked assault.
Rapid fire from 5 tiles away with a good shotgun
draw him in close then hit him with the "free shot when withing 4 tles" ablity. 3 shots a turn, blam, dead.

Tried some multiplayer with Whitey. Aliens are a weird faction to use because discs and ethereals are good, but then almost evertyhing else is not. Chrysalids at 3000 is a joke. Floaters are 1400 and have 4 hp.

We also experience some bad buggage- one game Whitey had to restart completely as he couldnt move anyone, and another he got a heavy floater stuck on top of the mausoleum. It could shoot but not move.

Also Skeleton armour is the same price as carapace armour. It gives you one less HP, but +10 defense, AND the grappling hook. So why would you ever take 'pace.

It was still fun, but the problems definitely detracted from it.

If you hit with all three, and have a Plasma Shotgun. I love my assault colonel, but he has a depressing tendency to miss 85% to hit and upwards shots...
