I get the idea that you should never buy a modern PC game until you made sure it runs fine because the large publishers only care about consoles.
Or because they're actively peddling broken goods (SimCity). Wait at least couple of weeks, and make sure to read user comments and forum posts.

Hell, they do this on console too.

If you released a game on the Playstation 2 in a horribly buggy state you couldn't possibly fix it so pretty much no one did that. I wish this would be an industry standard. Hell, EA is a horrible offender when it comes to not patching their broken console games. If you mix certain DLC for Dragon Age 2 on PS3 it can potentially corrupt your save file.

Demo from Far Cry on an outpost takedown.  I love the flexibility the game gives in the approach.

I think I'll wait to buy the new dragon age game. I learned my lesson with skyrim, where I bought it fo sixty dollars when it first hit the shelves and now I've seen it go for twenty dollars and that's with the dlc content! I waited for dark souls two to go down from fifty to twenty and that paid off nicely.

Just food for thought.

Of course... I will probably grab monster hunter four as soon as it arrives, but that's because of the online hunts I'll be doing with my friends.

I never pay more than 20 Euro for a game. The Witcher (enhanced version) was already available after one year for 7,50 Euro, but I did have to wait 4 years to buy Oblivion (but with add-ons).
It is not enough to have no ideas of your own; you must also be incapable of expressing them.

I don't really find $60 to be unreasonable for the right game.

I bought Skyrim for the PS3 for roughly $45 because I'm an idiot.

So is Farcry 4 worth it?

Did it seem high to you?

Considering that the game starts crashing a lot after you are 20 hours or so in on a savefile does kinda ruin the mood when you are blocked from playing in your giant viking fantasy sandbox.

Brand new AAA titles cost upwards of $100 down here in the land of over-inflation.  I'd love to be only paying $40-$60 for a new game (even after currency conversion).

What's the cause of the ridiculous OZ prices? Distributors or government being dickheads?

My nephews played on PS3 and they didn't seem to have any real issues.  Weird!

I heard some PS3 users didn't have any problems but I was not one of them. It just annoys me that my characters came with an expiration date and I have to play janitor to remove excess items in the world that wont despawn and eventually add bulk to my savefile.

Its distributors screwing Australia because it costs a little bit more to ship to, and a bit more effort to get it here in the same kind of timeframe.
Its games, software, hardware. Most tech costs more here.
Secretly they call it the Australia tax.  :-(

They have been that kind of price for over 10 years though.

There were some games a while back which were $120. I am glad that trend didn't continue.

I only pay $100 for a few games - only the games I must have and I know I'm going to play on release.
Smash Bros 4 is one such game.
The last game I paid that price for I think was Assassin's Creed Revelations.

I've never paid $100. There's always one store selling for at most $89. Dungeoncrawl does good deals too.

Yeah, JB do discounts, and sometimes Target or other retailers....
You just gave me a good idea to look into tomorrow, because EB were sold out on their pre-orders of Smash Bros with Game Cube attachment...

Sometimes JB stickers damage the box, which I don't like.
And working at EB games for the many years I did meant I was comfortable with their process.

Dragon age inquisition is buggy as hell in the PS3. I fell through the floor at one point, his face constantly doesnt match what it's supposed to be and occasionally I restart it because it's jerking around. - no I won't buy a ps4 yet.

The choice system and the characters however are very good! Even if they only give you annoying rogues, next play through I'll clearly have to be one. The static combat mode where you give commands is pretty pointless too. My ranged rogues love charging in against dragons when I tell them to hold their ground.

I can live with dodgy graphics if the story is good. If mass effect 3 had this level of effort to the story I would have been happier rather than the stupid fighting effort they put in.

Oh and the war table is irritating. I don't like waiting 5'hours for them to arbitrarily do stuff listed.
Curse you and your ability to stay within the lines.

I think the only Bioware games I played on PS3 were Dragon Age Origin and Mass Effect 2.  I only had an issue with the odd camera angle every so often with DA2.

Maybe I am just forgiving of graphical oddities!  I honestly don't generally even notice!

Dragon Age Origins had horrible framerate on the PS3 and Awakening is still a buggy mess. Mass Effect 2 worked fine for me but it had very long loading time when going between areas.
