Oh my god, GTA V online is one of the most FUN experiences I have ever had with an online game.  It is just a straight up fantastic time with friends.  COD is more competitive and is great in that way, but GTA is just an absolute blast to play.

Been playing way too much Panzer Corps with the Holiday vacation days and what not but have to say I've been quite pleased...didn't take long for me to start digging for old orders of Battle to get vaguely accurate core troops (essentially I ended up with an elite Corps strength Kampfgruppe consisting of 3.Panzer, 2.Gebirgs, and Grossdeutschland Divisions along with supporting battalions). Grand Campaign is fun though when one starts to get to the larger formation sizes it starts to run into the Panzer General 2 problem of small map sizes, ones where I have enough troops even keeping the often needed reserves to take every location on the map. I really wish they would have gone for a huger scale of map more along the lines of Panzer General the original where you would have to focus a certain concentration of units at the objective cities and need to leave some reserves to prevent the cities you didn't have the strength to take from harassing your support.

@Finlay: Whaddya mean a new 3DS?! The only choice is whether you want the 2DS(more suitable for younger children), the 3DS or the 3DSXL....

And will it cost what a Wii did at launch? Or has the technology become cheaper in the intervening years?

Well, whether the Wii components have gotten less expensive or not is irrelevant.  This is essentially a micro-Wii.  Shrinking components generally raises the price.

URK, good point!! Looks like I'm trading in my pair of 3DS's to get this then.

Does anyone have any idea how to transfer downloaded games, save data, etc. to a new 3DS console, and actually have it work properly? My friend that has one too said the method given in the manuals didn't work properly for him.....

They really can't get away with too much more than that.  Mobile phone competition is real!

I think 3ds is destroying everything, actually.

Following the launch of the Nintendo 2DS, Nintendo sold 452,000 units of the Nintendo 3DS family in the United States, during the month of October, double the previous month's sales. As such, it achieved its sixth consecutive month as the best-selling video game console in the US.

Nintendo of France deputy general manager Philippe Lavoué announced that Nintendo 3DS possesses a market share of 50 percent of all video game systems sold,

mobile games are generally shite. 3ds ftw.

Mobile phone games aren't really in the same market. I might install a clone of bejeweled on my phone as an afterthought, but I bought a handheld console specifically to play decent games.

My 11 year olds and their younger sibling love their 3DS.  They are popular with children.

I kind of want a 3DS/2DS but I can't really justify it with my backlog of PSP, DS and Vita games.

Wii U sold gangbusters for them on big profits this year.

The 3ds seem really nice, but I get what I need on my iPhone and don't have much time.

Mario 64 don't have a lot to go on, though. There's Mario, racing Mario, Pokemon and Zelda.

And StarFox. One of the worst games ever made.

I know, I had it and still can't understand why.
