That is hilarious.

Wait, people still play WoW?

Wait, Hot Topic still exists?

Wait, people still read Ctrl+Alt+Del?

I do. I like his Starcaster Chronicles.

I've begun to play Vermintide yesterday. I like it and it's not too different from last year's beta. Very hard and demanding, but I like the challenge and the combat is extremly satisfying. Relying mainly on your CC weapons and dodgin abilities is a nice refreshment from running and gunning dudes, left and right. The crafting system is nice, altough not very intuitive. I've already finished a couple missions from the Drachenfels expansion and liked them immensly. Generally it's a very good game, which unfortunately will not bring many new people to the hobby, because Warhammer Fantasy is no more...

I'm very so so on No Man's Sky.

I'd give it a 6/10 currently.  Very neat, cool feel, very little substance to the experience.

It looks like a really cool experience and world.

With basically no actual game behind it.

If anything people keep telling me they find it very relaxing. There's no gameplay, but there's lots of good stuff to look at and explore.

YOu shoot rocks, you juggle your inventory, you sell stuff.  Repeat.  With no discernible endgame beyond that.  But it looks cool, and it is relaxing.  But there are better games for all those components.  I am VERY glad I didn't pay any attention to this title until last week when I decided I'd grab it on a whim.

I'm enjoying it, though I don't find it enthralling.  I paid $47 through Amazon Prime preorder.  I would be happier with a $30 expenditure!

Yeah, I got the preorder bonus and paid $13 less than the normal retail for preordering it two days before release from my phone while pooping!  2016 is a magical time to be alive!

I don't think it's the sort if game I'd enjoy, but I bet some people absolutely love it.

I think I'd be like "this is pretty awesome, but it needs another package on top"

It didn't interest me in the slightest, so I never tracked it. I know several people who are genuinely enjoying it, so even if I were to personally think it's a bad game, who cares. They're having fun. The ones who can get it to run anyway.  :engel:

I do wish devs were more transparent about what will and wont be in their games though. If found to be lying/misrepresenting they should rightly be slammed for that.

Just to change the subject - I saw a trailer for an expansion to Age of Empires II - The African Kingdoms

"Confusing info on when or if it has been released - "Nov 15"   ? "later this year"   ?

and I cannot see it anywhere on shop sites like Amazon

Is it a genuine expansion or a fan mod?

If it's out where can you get it, and has anyone tried it?

It's an official DLC expansion for AOE2 HD on Steam. Came out Nov 15 of 2015.

You have to own the game on Steam, and then you can download the expansion.

It's great, and I highly recommend it. The forgotten kingdoms expansion is quite good too. I love the polish the HD version brought the game from 1999, and glad to see the game still around and thriving.

Pretty sure I asked about that earlier... Well at least it came up again.

It looks good. That they are making expansions for it makes me happy that it continues to live and thrive. IMO Age of Empires 2 and expansions are the best strategy games made. The ONLY changes I don't like, is making Saracens Mamelukes harder to kill in conquerors, and taking the siege bonus from Mandurai off onagers in forgotten empires. There don't seem to be enough balance changes in African kingdoms to make much of a change to other races.

(( Well... if this thread is for anything gaming, lately I've been doing some serious Steam.

1) System Shock 2.  I'm made it to the Many.  And... things have really gone south.

2) Higurashi, When They Cry Volume 3.  I know it isn't a game, as such, but it is a pretty twisted story of a Ground Hog day type loop.

3) Civilization V: Gods and Kings.  Right now I'm going through this horrible Winter War with the Swedish King.  Doggone cheater stabbed me in the back, and took my only iron producing city.  And, as you know.  That.  Means.  War.

4) And I keep rewatching the trailers for Layers of Fear: Lady with an Ermine and Papers Please.

So... um... yeah.  Me and a spot of dorkiness. ))

No Man's Sky is a pretty simple game.  The main draw is seeing what the next planet is.  There are very few things that the game really offers, yet I have dumped over 20 hours into it.  Quite relaxing.

As far as future offers, I hate the statement made by many NMS fans, that the next update will bring this or that and make the game what they wanted.  Don't get too wrapped up into that...

This is why I am glad I did not get into the hype game. I have been excited for this game since the reveal trailer, but I purposely stayed off the reddit page for it, and any gameplay or reviews, until I could play it for myself. I have also put 20 hours in and am convinced I could play for one hundred more.

Regarding Civ V: Gods and Kings is nice, but I really, really recommend getting Brave new World for it. It makes the game so much better!
