Going to get in a little painting this evening, a good way to end a great 4 day weekend!

Adding in Castaozor's request ...

November Goals ...

GP ... 6 mounted crossbowmen.
Castozor ... convert & paint 4 black orcs into Nobz.
023 ... 24 half-orcs plus 4 heroes.
Shadespyre ... 1 of 3 "Empirish" minis, maybe some orcs.
Warlord ... glue 15-20 blood knights on foot with DE corsair bits.
Gankom ... finish the khorne battle standard bearer and whip guy.
Irishzero ... 5 knights, and finish the bases and magnetize them.

(Completed items bolded.)

Had a day off work so finished these two

I originally started these for one of the old monthly painting competitions; they were going to be Undead hunters, hence the same basing as my Vampire army. I wanted to keep them in practical adventuring clothes, but without being entirely boring. The chap, in particular, looks like he cares about how he looks, even while stalking catacombs!

So I finished painting some things instead.
1 outrider
1 pegasus
2 archers
3 halberdiers

These were all finishing off existing units with an extra model or 2 (or 3) and in the case of the pegasus, giving my painted wizard rider something to ride.

Not sure whats next - if I assemble those committed vampires on foot, or if I paint some more something or other. Hmmm.

I’m well ahead of my plan as I’ve painted all the Watch characters a month early - so just have to rebase some of them and then finish the bases/trays.

I should complete this by the end of December but as it’s taken nearly three years to get to this stage I’m happy to let it drag on for a few more months – particularly as my friend is still waiting for some of his Marines and the local GW store is starting its annual Legions of Legend painting competition in January.

Only finished 2 heroes and 5 half-orcs in November.

But on to DEADCEMBER, my favorite month. In fact, day one and I'm already on my goals! (OK, I started a couple days early, but finished in Deadcember....)

Goal: 8 Skeletal infantry, 2 bolt throwers plus 4 skeletal crew, one catapult plus 3 skeletal crew, 2 undead heroes, 5 more skeletal infantry.

December 01, I've got the 8 infantry done.

I have made some progress during the final days of November but haven't been able to upload pictures. The unit if kotww is coming forward. All horses are painted and I have primed the grand master and a converted musician. Also I'm waiting for a movement tray of 7×2 so for now I have it on the huge 10×2. But that makes me want to do 20...but it's a pain to paint horses..

For December the goal is to finish the unit of 14. And then if I get everything in time, start on my special little warwagon.

Very nice Irishzero.

GP, I'm 'active' again (as in I have some time for hobbies) so sign me up for 20 Sartosan pirates this December.
Photobucket has now re-destroyed my pictures, so the first half of my collected works thread is no longer working again. To see my website version of the campaign thread, with fully functioning pictures, please go to https://bigsmallworlds.com/

Had a quick go at a BROWN skinned orc...

I quite like him, so I'm going to paint him and a couple of others to completion and see how I feel about it then...

Hmm, might be changing my goal to 10 Bretonnian Mercenary light horsemen. They are likely to be needed before the Sartosans.

I'll know soon. (Wish I'd started work on the riders instead of building and undercoating the pirates. Still, I can pick up from where I left off later.)

Zerotwentythree got 2 of his heroes, and 5 unexpected but qualifying (in his mind) half-orcs painted!

I've managed to get good progress on 15 crossbowmen, but I've been sidetracked by something... different. I recently joined in on a D&D 3.5 campaign. Not a game system I'd expect to play, but you take what's on offer if options are scarce, and I've found I quite like it so far. As a favour to our hostess who generously lets us play at her place, I converted and painted a character model for her. Feast your eyes on a crossbow-toting nymph!

The only good thing about 7th ed heads is that they look particularly inbred and superstitious which is perfect for Stirlanders

I got my Orks done by a bit of cheating, weekend still counts as November to me! For December I might have a temporary painting stop, lots of social and study related stuff coming up.

Hopefully I can start my warwagon project.

Nice nymph - very jealous that you're getting to play some D&D, it's maybe 10 years since I last did. The elf mini which I use as my avatar here is actually one of my attempts to represent my last AD&D character in model form. Maybe I should try again some time?

Anyway. some goals for December. Let's be brave and say I want to complete a unit of my brown orcs!

1 - finish my 4 test orcs
2 - paint a whole regiment of orcs

I think that'll do, I'll add to it if there is surprisingly great progress or something else catches my eye

I like the nymph. I have one of those models and couldn’t think of anything interesting to do with it - I like your idea!

I'm a bit late but I did finish all my November goals back in November. Both the Khorne whip AND banner men were finished.

For December I've joined a GW painting event contest. Each person in the contest buys one of those space marine hero boxes, rolls on the big post of different chapters and has to paint whatever you roll. I managed to get myself painting Brazen Claws, which isn't terrible but not exactly Salamander style easy.

So to paint one Brazen Claw!

Forget my previously stated pirates goal, I am now working on 14 light horse (spears & bows) for the Bret mercs called the Brabanzon. They must be finished within 6 days!! (That's when the next campaign battle is on!)
