I'm generally just picking metal models from e bay , that i like the look of , and painting them, and selling some.

Keeping standing armies for CHaos, Wood ELf, Empire, Dwarf and Undead right now.

Jumping in a bit late, but those are my favorite grave guard models, and I really like the colors you're using with them.  :::cheers:::

after GW dropped WHFB i became despondent and sold my collection of 75 unreleased models, lol

I have however come across a model which is unreleased and so rare i never saw it in 10 years on e bay,

the variant i have being posted to me is also intriguing , to say the least, as it differs very slightly with the CCM WIKI image...

More updates soon, i cant post pic yet in case somehow the post gets lost,

soon i hope i will have it and paint it

Intriguing indeed. I am genuinely curious to see what you've gotten your hands on this time.

For the record it was your blog here that inspired me to attempt to collect every slotta based Orc (except the Villagers) from the 80's. While I have managed to collect every Orc from the 88 and 89 catalogs (except the villagers) I began to realize just how many un-cataloged/unreleased Orcs are out there.  I've given up on getting a hold of those unreleased models, I just don't have the patients and social engineering skills necessary.

But I am content knowing I have at least one un-released Orc.

Not a fan of that figure, although an interesting paint job there.

I need to update the wiki.

It's a nice miniature with a cool late 80s, early 90s fantasy vibe to it. According to the wiki link however, this (particular version) does not qualify as an 'unreleased citadel' miniature, but that should not stop you and should not really matter either.

Looking forward to the painted version!  8-)

The one with the Medusa is Kordius the Slayer.

From Warseer (2005):

Quote
That is pretty cool. I have a couple of questions for you if you wouldn't mind answering them.

1. The most important one. Do you have any left to sell by any chance?
2. How did this all go down?
3. How many did they sculpt for you and what did they or you do with the rest?
4. Did this open up any oppurtunities for you?
5. What have you sculpted since?

1. No, I think they all went.
2. When I sculpted the mini I was also working on minis for Specialist Games. Minis were, at that time, master cast in batches of about eight so there was room on a mould and Jervis offered to get a few cast for me as it really wouldn't cost much in time, money or labour. The mastering process is very different these days.
3. They cast about 10 of them I think. I had most of them. I think Jervis and Mark Bedford had one each. Memory is fuzzy on the exact details. I think all of mine got given away over the years.
4. Not really. By this time I was already an experienced pro sculptor so the opportunities were already open. Nope, I tell a lie. This was the figure that Dark Age Games saw and offered me work on that range.
5. Fair amount before and after this mini. As far as GW stuff is concerned I did Warmaster Dark Elves and Tzeentch Daemons, Blood Bowl Nurgle's Rotters and Vampires and Jena Orechiel and the Arbite Judge for Inquisitor. Outside of GW most of my work has been for Dark Age Games and working on my own range: Spyglass Miniatures. Also done a little work for Wyrd Miniatures recently. Oh, and I sculpted a couple of figures for John Blanche's Femme Militant range. That was a really cool project.
All this said, I really don't see this fig as an unreleased citadel. I did sculpt a few pieces for GW that never saw the light of day though. There's a variant of the Blood Bowl Vampire Lord and and Warmaster Chaos War Mammoth. Very much doubt they'll see the light of day. The War Mammoth never got crew sculpted so is technically unfinished and the Vampire Lord only ever had one cast in resin.

Big fan of the metal Waywatchers, the texture on the cloaks is amazing and allowed me to learn to paint autumn leaves so I had a transition color. They really pushed me artistically and were just pretty models. I do love this Hero model that being said.
I may disagree with what you say but I respect your right to be punished for it.

If I recall correctly, this was a test sculpt done for GW, then it was released by another company (New Wave, I believe, who later mutated into CMON) with some modifications, mainly the medusa head instead of what was, I believe, originally a GW orc head. We're talking around 20 years ago though, so my memory is a bit hazy on the details. Sculptor was either Kev White or Steve Buddle.

Kordius the Slayer (with the Medusa) was originally produced for New Wave, but then bought by coolminiornot, where it is still available. http://www.coolminiornot.com/distribution/kordius-the-slayer.html

And they charge $9.99. :icon_eek:  That seems like they're interested in competing with GW.

The price must be because Perseus figures usually don't have cloths, and the weapon isn't a sword, and thus a rare figure indeed. :icon_wink:
