Mortar and HSRB rules?

When firing the mortar or HSRB do we guess the distance or use the rules for stonethrowers?

Hellstorms still got is own rules just as before but with no more guesses. They still shot like a cannon and then scatter but you dont have to guess anymore. Mortars use the rules for stone throwers.

Thanks, I just got confused as the rulebook states the Armies books rules should be followed if they clash.
