I know it is red and yellow, but it is a special red, and a special yellow.  Do notice the flags, old war wagons used to have 2 flags each, these are a variation of those for Kislev use.  One was always the engineer school flag.  steveb

I combined two kits to make one big war wagon to use as a mobile battery.  I drilled out two of the front decorations, and used wire and tube to make hinges for the shield doors, creating cannon gun ports.  the cannons were I believe dwarf metal maurauder guns, I cut down the trail and used shields doubled up to make wheels.    It was fun to build

Whirblewind war wagon.

In an old issue of the Journal they talked about disguising a whirl wind in a wagon to surpeise the enemy when they ambushed the column, kind of like a "Q" ship.   I put my gun on swivel base and used wire and tubes to hinge the sides, they will fold up so that it looks normal from the side, it was also fun to build.

here is the rocket support war wagon, the front wall goes up and down, and the rocket launcher swivels side to side.  steveb

Mine was made to be modular. The first format was for use as an alternate non-steam tank. The second (unfinished) insert is for use as a war altar.

MrChumley: different colour scheme.

These photo's are on my computer titled Mikecro.  I believe he is an australian member of Warhammer Empire and he is probably the artist painting these models.   One thing is certain: it wasn't me.

Amazing work. This is one inspiring thread.

This is my take on the war...

This was inspired by this thread and all the amazing entries made herein. It is based on the War Wagon and painted in the colors of Talabheim. I then used the armored horses of the Khador Gun Carriage from Privateer Press because it matched the over-all look of the wagon. Hopefully, I was able to come up with an armored and riveted version of the War Altar.

What do you guys think?

Hello All

After much labor and many hours of work I have finally finished my War Altar.

This is my biggest conversion and I am glad to be finished.

Yes it is a war altar for Ulric. The priest is my current model, He is a converted acolyte and has a mounted twin brother.

Comments welcome.

Greg

The model is based on an old war wagon. I have cut down the sides and used  them on the front. This gave me the 2 rings which the chains run through to the driver from the horses. The banners and flames are all on pins so can be changed.

This gives a models view. You can just see the drivers and AL heads and where the chains run.

I have added a driver to keep the Waltar going if the AL leaves the battle. He is an old metal goblin, who has had his ears sculpted.

I finally got around to do the insert for my war wagon/altar.

It's a 40mm square base with pieces of 1x10mm wood glued on. The statue is from the chapel kit. It's very simple looking and I'm considering whether to add some more bits like torches or shields, but I'm not sure what would look good.

Here it is in the wagon.

And with the still unpainted Warrior Priest. I think it's a very nice model for a war altar, since he looks like he's preaching.

I also got around to finish a pistolier and 2 horses. It's slow progress but I'm getting there.

C&C is always welcome.
