@Fr1day, Sharkbelly--I love the flame markers!  Those look so cool.  Useful for towns under bombardment as well as ship fights and the odd random encounter fire.  ::heretic::

@Henerius--great work on the most recent ships.  Your fleet puts mine to shame.  I admire your dedication.   :::cheers:::

Lovely.  Thanks for keeping the old thread alive.  Its going to be a few months until our next pirate game starts, so I will be watching your progress.

I had a briefish look last night, but there is a lot to take in, and I am off to Spain for a few days, so I will have a better detailed look next week.

There are some lengthy videos too which I will watch.

The figures look good - metal too.

The ships also seem good value.
My son is interested and we have talked of doing a joint pledge, but he has pointed out that I already have 6 ships and numerous pirates ..............

It has reminded me that I annoyingly did not take the opportunity to look at the growing variety of mats appearing on the hobby market when I was at Salute last Saturday.   :icon_mad:

I will reach the ridiculous amount of 17 when I add these to the pile.

I bought the game Pirates! as well. It is possible to play multiplayer with Pirates! and it will be possible to play fantasy crews, submersibles and airships... just adding to the fun.
Several club members already indicated to be interested. Seems Iam going to have my games of pirating after all.

So Midaski how many more will you add to your fleet?

Any idea who you would go to to have a ship sculpted? I know lots of figure sculptors, but no terrain sculptors.

The Geboom company is run by a terrain sculptur, the boys from Firelock games call there ship pieces of scenery, moving ones but scenery.

I guess that means a terrain sculptur is the one to start when you want a schip sculpted.  :icon_question:

Hey all, I wanted to share a few ship-related things that I have finished up lately.

I added a captain's banner (in dark blue on the mizzenmast) and tidied up the cannons and the mortar for my galleon. It now boasts 20 (21 if you count the mortar) guns! I also added the tow rope for the dinghy. The mortar fits well inside if a "bomb ship" is needed for a mission.

The sea serpent is from an extra head and tail from the hydra/kharybdiss kit.

A swimming troll from extra bits.

Two sunken ships. These are resin models I bought on ebay.

And, of course, the giant octopus.

Well done. The pictures of the sunken ships are the one of the swimming troll.

It really does! It does a surprisingly good job simulating shimmering water. I would have been very skeptical had I not seen the pics first.

This thread continues to inspire me after all these years. I consider this aspect of Fantasy Battle (28mm ship to ship combat) to be one of GW's biggest missed opportunities (okay, admittedly there are a ton of other ones too).

Also, the explosions on the previous page that FRIDAY did are pretty amazing. I am absolutely going to do some of those of my own.

I dig that mermaid, pretty cool use for that old slave girl mini. I think the slave girls from the old Asdrubael Vect kit got more use by players and modelers outside of the Vect kit than they did as intended. I used one on my Orc Warboss model for example. Anyway, does this mermaid have any rules?

Sounds fishy to me ...................

There's a couple of similar sets of Harem Girls from an American guy - Bronze Age Minis I think ?
