Excellent ... and not sure I am reading the middle name correctly or not from the side of one tent being "Capt. J. Tno Kirk" or not, but I like it!

J. Tim Kirk  - a wargamer I knew many years ago – he was a great fan of Star Trek for some reason.

Like the HQ I’ve shown some of these before. The Inquisitor, La Marquesa, was shown on the first page when I wasn’t sure what role the character was going to play in this group. As she wasn’t required for the HQ Command the hat ensured she became the Inquisitor. The horseman was originally built as a Commissar when the first plastic Imperial Guards were released and converted soon afterwards with the current head, body and yellow axe. When I acquired he had lost the weapon he was holding and one of the side lasguns. I couldn’t find a replacement for the missing side gun so he now has a combination of old and new lasgun styles. There are 2 converted Stormcast Eternals and the rest are mostly old lead figures that I couldn’t think of another use for.

Quite the creations there, your ability to come up with such figures is really neat to see, thank you.

Mindblowing! The colour scheme only gets better in the bigger picture.

How long did this project take? 2.2 years?

Not quite 2½ years as the first competition was announced at end of 2019. This is a bit quicker than I took with the City Watch.

Didn’t win this year’s competition or either of the previous two I entered but they provided some of the motivation to continue with this project and it has been fun.

Over the past years I have now finished enough vignettes to cover the area set for the Armies on Parade competition, although I don’t think I will be entering it. Very little changed from what I had planned to make back at the start of the project. I thought about putting some Ogryns on Ork motorbikes but then considered the bikes too small for them – they were replaced by the Inquisitors Squad which I was obviously thinking about when making the first figure for the Pioneers – La Marquesa – back on page 1. The Beastmen are missing because they were never part of the plan and there isn’t a display base or even space for them.

Thank you for viewing over this period and for all your comments, they are appreciated.

Another amazing project, and it's definitely one of those things no one wants to see come to an end.

Congrats, for this is legendary! :eusa_clap: :icon_cool: :icon_biggrin: :::cheers:::

I've never sold a mini that I didn't regret selling later. Best advice: keep them!

When I gave up with the Ogryn’s bikes I moved on to a vehicle, mainly because I felt the wheels were right for them. The bodywork started with the Jeep, which like the bikes was deemed too small, and evolved with bits and pieces of old broken kits and plastic card.

The fluff on this vehicle is that it was built on the planet and has a dark purple paint scheme for night time reconnaissance.

Re: The Apatoa Pahure Pioneer Corps - Ratlings
« Reply #118 on: March 19, 2022, 08:41:15 AM »
Having revived the odd Squat and the out of favour Beastmen of 40K I wanted to do the same for the forgotten Ratlings. Rather than just sniper rifles I felt they should also have a more balanced selection of weapons.

As you know Ogryns are not the brightest of troops so giving them the buggy was a bit of a gamble.

When the buggy broke down out in the desert they thought all was lost and they’d end up as Necron fodder.  However a group of Ratlings turned up out of the blue and kindly fixed and modified their machine. The Ogryns were were very grateful and offered the Ratlings a ride back to the camp.

Like the Beastmen these two units were not part of the project plan and so there aren’t any proper bases for them but they have a temporary one as they meet up with the returning Saanen patrol outside the camp perimeter. A quick greeting and it looks like someone's not happy being informed that Abhuman is a derogatory term!

The Apatoa Pahure Pioneer Corps project is now finished.

The End…………   for real this time - there is no more - so no comments about the lack of a bath with the MBLU.

The End.
