It's actually half the calibre of the regular battle cannon. Looks more like a real gun, though!

I like big barrels and I cannot lie.

I am in the process of assembling my Baneblade and I ended up not using the normal baneblade barrel.  I attached the volcano cannon barrel for a more... impressive weapon.  To be honest, the actual Baneblade barrel is pretty small for something as powerful as the weapon it represents.

I don't know, it's pretty massive compared to the turret.

Anyway, some conversions and a lascannon:

Looking good!

Seeing as they're based on French would the troopers be 'Cah-Dee-Ahns' instead of 'Cay-Dee-Yuns'?

Cheers. I'm actually going for two separate forces. Old Cadians, and space legionnaires. Don't know what I'm gonna call them, though.

It's been a year, so thought I'd paint another tank.

Also, missile launchers.

And this guy. Counts as sly marbo, maybe.

Ah, yeah. I forgot that they got rid of him.

Anyway, tank done. Click for bigger pictures.

Not as happy with the result this time, looks like I overdid the orange rust compared to the first one.

Edit: Actually, my new phone camera oversaturated the colours in the last two pictures(notice the blue on both tanks, and the overly yellow grime on the right tank). They're not noticeably different in real life.

Great looking stuff. I love the urban theme on your IG. What other infantry do you posses? Any old school Stormtroopers or Kasrkin?

I have 15 or so metal Kasrkin lying around, not sure if I'm gonna use them though, the post 2003 look doesn't match my old guys.

I'd love to get my hands on some old school storm troopers though, for the sake of completeness.

Edit: Talking about these guys:

The best guys. They look like proper spec-ops. I have about 13 of them. Want to add 7 more and call it a day. :)

Six years since I did anything with my space french. I had plans to do a lot of resin casting to keep it going forward (tank pieces and cuirasses), but resin casting is a pain in the ass. The alternative, sculpting identical parts or cutting them by hand from plasticard, is not an option. I got my hands on some oyomaru now though, and that's changed things quite a bit.

Remember this guy?

Well, now I can do this:

I also ordered some dragoon helmets from Reptilian Overlords (which did not exist 6 years ago): https://www.reptilian-overlords.com/online-store/Dragoon-Helms-2-p138430417

Now I'm just missing lances and arms.

There's an outfit called Atlantic Games or some such, and they are getting ready to release some "french" for use with sci-fi, and these will include both Napoleonic and Adrian helmet head options.

It looks promising. Plus 24 guys for 35 bucks isn't too shabby.

One set of tracks almost done (photo taken at a dutch angle for some reason):

Turns out I got a rather brittle and hard type of plasticard, which is a pain to work with at a thickness of ~1mm or more. Seriously considering just using cardboard for the hull.

Also, who needs wargaming when your desk is a battlefield:

Gah, I've been contemplating making home made tank tracks just like that so I could convert some rapiers, but I've been put off by my terrible sculpting skills. Well done, they look very good.

Mind that I'm "burdened" by imitating the Renault FT-17. A rapier can be quick and easy to make, depending on how much time you want to spend on it.

Either way, do yourself a favour and get some oyomaru (or blue stuff or whatever) and cast your tracks in green stuff. You get something akin to the rubber tracks that come with historical model kits, which is much easier to work with. And they're disposable.

Thanks for the tip! I've had all the weapon parts for ages, but just been put off by having to make tracks.
