Looks sharp!  I was hoping you'd give us those angles, too.  Very nice, Chum.  Very nice.

Just read some of Graham McNeill's Empire Book,

It felt like the dialogue was flat and the grammar quite basic,

i gave up after 10 pages,

did this guy study english at university etc? Not meaning to sound snobbish etc, but it feels really amateurish

I might have to take up fantasy writing if this is the benchmark of success!

back to JR tolkien methinks

The Daemon reared up and stuck his sword into Pendrag's side, he yelled out in writhing agony , whilst his brethren looked in fear ,,,,,,,,, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

wake me up when the story doesn't read like the Beano

Strange that. His Horus heresy novels have been some of the best books I've ever read.

Maybe they're told to write for a younger audience with the fantasy stuff? Not sure why they'd do that though.

The only book I've read of his I liked was the one in the first three of the 40K Heresy series.  Trying to get through book number 5 of the same series currently, which is also by him, and its really dragging.  Tried some of the Ultra Marines stuff by him and couldn't finish.

I found all his books have this problem.   Though I did read through all of the ambassador ones

yep the UK is supposed to be cold at this time usually!

I'm looking forward to 2012, and the culmination of global warming, economic melt down, and the mayan end of days apocalypse !

Well at the speed you paint, and taking into consideration the gamer adage of never painting all of your miniatures lest the world ends, you just may be the reason the Mayans calendar predicts the end of world! You'll likely finish painting your last miniature in your collection on that day. I know I'm not in any danger of painting my last miniature by then.  :smile2:

This makes me feel slightly better about having 5 units in various stages of construction. I was beginning to think I was uniquely insane. Now I know I have company...  :::cheers:::

Of course, lacking your hairdryer-fu and general speed, who knows when I will get them all painted.
