He sculpts for various manufacturers but has occasionally released a few personal projects as one time offers. That was the case with the two sets of trolls. He took orders for a short time, then had the minis cast to fulfill orders, and that was it as far as I know. I just happened to be lucky enough to catch wind of the offer on FB a year or two ago.

I think I saw these trolls when they were available. They're super cool & cute. Very nice you will paint them for us to see!

The short version is that the necromancer, Maurice, uses his skeletons for night raids & terror attacks. The idea being that they're harder to see (and even more frightening) when painted/charred black, and the skeletons have an advantage as they don't need the daylight to "see" the same way as humans and similar diurnal creatures.

Sounds great! Very inspiring. Also, those half-knights are superb.  :-D

Progress on painting bog trolls for the Month of Marsh...

There's a KoW tournament on St. Patrick's Day. Although it's premature, I'm tempted to try scraping together a force of everyone's favorite one eyed swamp bastards (plus guests) as a sort of themed army...

I seem to remember the ability to have a troll army with a troll king. A friend of mine in deep river made such an army. It was glorious. Is something similar going to happen here like your giant army?

Thanks. Finished all six now.

I partially drew inspiration from the art of John Bauer (http://artpassions.net/bauer/bauer.html) but with a little more color variation. I still wanted an oldschool miniatures look to compliment the figures.

I think there was an option for a troll army based around a special character (troll) in one of the chaos army books. As far as my own plans, for now I'm going to use them (next weekend, in fact! actual gaming planned!!!) as allies for whoever. But I've enjoyed painting these so much, I want more and may flesh out a skirmish warband.

I also wrapped up work on some flying high elf bird boats for a friend...

Throgg the Troll King from the 8th edition Warriors of Chaos book allowed you to take Trolls as core units.

WotDG (the 9th Age equivalent) has since removed trolls completely from the chaos list. So will need to be wahammer...

Thanks!

Currently I will use them as one eyed swamp ogres in KoW (ogre list). I'm still hoping for some oldschool WFB3 gaming at some point, too. Plus I just picked up Dragon Rampant, which is pretty open as far as army building.

Not really... Been working on the high elves for months, and the trolls were pretty easy to paint. But thank you!

I didn't expect to finish the trolls so quickly, so that was the extent of my "Month of Marsh" plans. So quickly coming up with something else marshy & boggy...

I like how those came out!

And I'm imagining more of a marshy color palette to them than what was shown on the link from your website to the other guy's figures.
