huh, thats kinda weird with shadow wars armageddon.

I wonder if they'll just use that new ruleset.

honestly the gang/hive aspect of it appeals to me more than "choose 6 random models from your 40k army"
I don't care about the rules.

Well it would seem Shadow War Armageddon went well enough to encourage them.

You would think the rules sets on both would have to be pretty much the same - maybe more interior hive multi-level rules with Necromunda added to the SW-A set.

Fantastic - Necromunda and Epic are the only ways GW could tempt me back. I've got loads of terrain ready from Infinity, even if the theme is a bit different.

The new models lack charm but there's no reason we can't use the old ones. Exciting times.

I'm excited about this as well. I think GW was a bit overwhelmed with how popular Shadow War: Armageddon turned out to be, and with 8th ed 40K around the corner they probably had their whole PR / ad revenue slotted for that release and saw SW as a release spot filler. Regardless, I am truly excited to see this come back. Those new plastics look sweet!

I definitely wanted the box, more for the terrain than anything else!

The minis look great, but they will be 32 mm scale. So not compatible with the old figurines. I'm still hyped - have a Goliath and Orlock gangs, so will definetly use them. BTW I consider the old Necromunda models to be some of the best from GW.

They will? Where are you getting that from? I didn't see that referenced in the article.

I do have a Delaque gang painted and ready to go.

Someone compared the models and base sizes on one of the FB Necromunda groups. Of course I might be wrong, but GW generally has a boner for 32 mm now. Primaris and all.

Would love to play against your Serpents. :biggriin:

I have been thinking about getting back in to Necromunda. How cool is this. Now if only they would bring back Inquisitor...

From what I understood, this game had horrible rules (but awesome minis). Is it true? I also know that it worked as a basis for the Dark Heresy RPG.

Inquisitor had som funky and sometimes very hard rules yes. It was a warband skirmish game, crossed with an rpg. Overall it is a cornerstone for my gameing experience, as it was one of tge first table tob games I was ever interested in and it got me in too rpgs. Without it, I doubt we would have the Dark Stars game right right now.

And yes the minis were pretty great.

Take a look on this forum http://www.the-conclave.co.uk/forum/index.php it has a lost of great stuff about the game. And yes I was on this forum for alittlr while. I am sure if you dig deep enough you will fine some of my stuff.

I am happy too. Will get some more people into the hobby.

Having grabbed Shadow war: Armageddon just because of the appeal for a low mini count game I will get Necromunda aswell.
Oh, and remember GW made it personal, not you!

I have heard (I think I remember it coming from GW themselves on a FB page) saying the Necromunda ruleset would be based on 7th ed, just as the original Necromunda (now Shadow War) was based on the 2nd ed.

Pretty sure it will be based on 8th edition, not 7th.

Yup. Supposedly there will be no "I movie, you move" system, but we shall see about that.

Yeah, that was another rumor - that it'll work with activations, so not clasically turn-based.

Hopefully they have better rules this time! I really liked the Goliath models. The whole lot had a really great bad 80s sci-fi vibe.

Exactly!  I used to say you couldn't use them unless you were playing old Metallica or Iron Maiden.

I liked a lot of the ideas of necormunda. It was the only part of 40k that appealed to me properly.
I believe I have orlock, esher and redemptionist gangs, as well as a spyder. Will be keen to see how they flesh it out, or if it is just going to be standalone esher and goliath.

I have to imagine they'd add the other gangs, like they did with Blood Bowl. I still have my Van Saar gang!

I sold all of my gangs back in the mid 2000's when they were going for CRAZY money (well what passed for crazy money - $100 for a 8 man gang).

All of the gangs will be supported I think.  Starting with Goliath and Escher in the box, but they said gangs will get multipart plastic kits.

Were they OOP already in the mid-2000s? I thought they even still sold bits back then.

Edit: New models look good, but they also look huge and not very compatible with old stuff.
