I would like to contribute to this inspiring forum with a few pictures.

What I have painted at the moment:

The halberdiers:

Free company:

Artillery:

I don't think you have seen this before but it's actually archers, dressed in green!

I got tired of black undercoat and the foundation paints, and longed for some eye-hurting brightness, so these are painted on white.

Oh captain, my captain!

you have a really nice looking army liking the green nice and crisp looking. One question why has your captain got freakishly large hands they look as large as his head

You've done outstanding work on your army. You've done really nice freehand on your banners. What's really caught my eye though is that stone building. Nice work!

Great stuff, they look excellent. Really like your vivid reds.

One critique on the movement trays - try texturing them with sand and painting them as per your bases and adding patches of static grass rather than astro-turfing them. You'll be surprised how much difference it makes to the look of a unit especially in a skirmishing tray.

Armholeeio: Glad you like the green! The hand size of the captain may look like the result of a conversion or something, but the hands are actually original. The captain model is 15-20 years old, and I believe hand sizes generally have gotten smaller over the years, maybe due to improvements in sculpting techniques or so. I bet someone around here would know more about this than me though. (The hammer is a conversion. It was a flail originally.)

I really like youre company! The simplicity of colour choise makes it al the harder to make it look interesting. It does look excellent, a real joy for my eyes.

Not that much to report. Not much hobby time lately.

However, there is work in progress on the unit of swordsmen.

Their command group.

Also, I'm trying to convert an old model to a Jade Wizard. I'm worried he'll turn out too flagellant-like with that scroll nailed to him. Maybe that could be countered by painting it in a more magic-like way? Perhaps a big green rune or something like that? I would be very thankful for any ideas here!

Old school models and lots of red. Feels like the nineties.

But in a good way, definitely! The red and green contrast is very pleasant to look at. And I like your freehands.

Yes. Any ideas on how to paint a distinct "magic scroll", in a way that stands out from the parchment on state troops f x?

Paint it black and write on it with glowing rhunes?

Like the colors being used with your army. Noticed the small horn conversion on the free company. I used the blunder buss for a similar type of conversion, and some day when I get around to taking pictures of my army, I'll post a picture of it.

Just use a big red pentagram. Easy to paint, and most people will immediately associate it with magic. Also, it will fit your colour scheme.
