Finished building and magnetizing the 2nd Riptide, and even went back to the first to add 2 more magnets and painted up 3 support systems (ATS, TL and VT) for it.

I'm a bit stuck on one car so here's a different one. I hope the colour comes over in the pics because I'm really happy with it

I wanted to make a third really shiny metallic car, but I was out of metallic paint options other than silver / greys and gold. And this car came with red window glass and wheels, so red was the obvious choice. So this finish comes from painting thin layers of clear red paint over a gold undercoat. Had a few technical problems (there are some flaws in the paint job which it would be very hard to repair) but the colour came out great.

Here it is with the other ridiculous shiny sports cars

Thanks! I used Tamiya Clear Red but I guess Blood For The Blood God would work?

Still stuck on the second car, I might put it on the back burner and build a new one while I think about it.

More importantly: BATTLE TRUCK!

This is built onto a tractor unit from a big rig, I picked up a couple without trailers and thought it would make a good basis for an ad hoc armoured vehicle.

Because I am a show off, I made it so the back part lifts off should I want just the tractor

Also of course, I made the turret swappable in case I want more options. Here's a look-out tower / firing platform I made as a first attempt

I did GP.  I finally bought a Proxxon and went nuts.

AG-  Proxxon is a tool company.  One of their tools is a hit wire cutter for XPS foam.  A table saw for rigid foam.

Another car, quick job this as there was only one choice of colour!

And now for something more Warhammer...

Older viewers may remember that long ago I made a Balthazar Gelt model involving actual gold plating? This is a chaos warrior I did at the same time. All that gold is real gold :)

Nice going with those cars Shadespyre!

For me I decided to scratch off building the frostgrave models this month. I could do them time wise, but as I'm redecorating my cabinets it isn't handy to have more loose figures around as I need to replace all the ones I already have, so I want to wait on that after I finished building up my new cabinets so they can get a good spot right after been build.

The main (only?) thing I miss about being furloughed from my lab job is the chance to muck around with the chemicals on occasional quiet days. I'd love to do a whole regiment or warband or something like this. There are a lot of limits - I can only do it on metal miniatures (so far, anyway) and the finish is only as bright as the metal underneath, so you need nice smooth surfaces that you can buff up a bit. Also kudos to Reaper miniatures as their Master Series primers have decent adhesion to the gold, which was a big problem when I tried this previously.

That seems like a good plan SKS, I'm forever painting things and then not having anywhere to put them. I've just put some shelves up and am looking to make my own perspex dust covers to protect miniatures I put on them (priced up pre-made display boxes at over £150 and they weren't even quite the sizes I wanted!)

Well just(today) ordered the whole lot of cabinets for the second wall and even got someone to take over my old school (chemestry?) cabinet before the new ones will arive on 6th of July.

And this evening I finished (Battleready) my Coldstar Commander, I think I'll do the whole making pictures this also this evening

SKS ... Finish Lord of Contagion, Plagueburst Crawler, 3 Inceptors, XV86 Coldstar Commander, Finish building 2nd Riptide, start building Frostgrave models, added Primaris Lieutenant and a few support systems for my already finished Riptide

calling it done :)

with pictures (copy/paste from my 40k thread)

All my goals for June have been met (except 1 but that has a reason) and then some.

So Lord of Contagion:

Making my Dark Imperium set complete:

Adding a Plagueburst Crawler (Magnetized ofcourse):

Going towards my T'au
XV86 Coldstar Commander:

Builded my 2nd Riptide:

Support systems also for my finished Riptide (Target Lock, Advanced Targeting System and Velocity Tracker)

Some T'au Scenery that I got now in 2 deliveries (from this kickstarter https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1555279928/3d-printable-alien-tau-style-scenery-for-tabletop-wargames?ref=creator_nav )

Then on to the Salamanders (with a really happy Benthe! ) with the Contrast painted transfers on a tip from Peachy in one of the Hobby & Hangout sessions on twitch bij WarhammerTV)
Primaris Inceptors:

Primaris Lieutenant:

July pledge, which is rather ambitious :
* build one set of a wizard and apprentice (Frostgrave)
* build a starting group (10ish) soldiers (Frostgrave)
* build Primaris Librarian (with my Daughter)
* build and paint (battleready) Foetid Bloat Drone
* paint 5 Intercessors (battleready)
* finish painting 10 Fire Warriors(battleready)
* finish painting broadside(battleready)

@SKS - I love that death guard and for some reason I love the vehicles. I was never really a fan of the chaos units but these are fab!
This
E salamanders look great too. The primaris  go really well with them. One of the chapters that can really benefit.

The tau - I really don’t think I’ve ever seen better painting on this army.

Wow, June's been a great month for everyone!

I managed to complete my OWAC entry, though I was losing focus at the end. My post is up at the site... http://oldworldarmychallenge.blogspot.com/2020/06/zerotwentythrees-june-wood-elves-203-pts.html

So while I didn't meet my June goal, I did get most of it done - 10 scouts and 1 archer - before getting a little sidetracked. It's all in the post above.

Looking to July, I'm not sure where to go. I have a few possibilities in mind:

  • Convert & paint the rest of my Midlam hobgoblins.
  • Trollwives, trollkids, and giant forest troll
  • More non-canon "daemons"
  • Something big. Like a dragon, Goremaw, a giant, or the Reaper jabberwock.
  • Skaven pike regiment + rebase some of the old painted Skaven + maybe paint a few characters. (That should probably solidify a small Skaven force to use, similar to the half orcs, sea elves, wood elves, etc.)
  • Sea Elf extras. I still have about 10 archers, a few light cav & scouts, plus one of them newfangled fish elves to paint.
  • Hobbits.
  • Empire/Empire...something? (Sort of holding off on this as I may try for an Old World Mercenary/Ally/DoW sort of project fypr next year's Old World Army Challenge.
