It was amazing looking tables/battlefields that first got me into the hobby. There is absolutely nothing like seeing a painted army on a well built table.

That is a great one. Looks like the perfect amount of scenery.

I've finished off the part of the crashed aqullia lander i showed you at teh same time as the storm raven. Fairly easy drybrush job, a few little details . After painting I was a little concerned about it looking a little mono tone. But I feel the bushes, as they are really vibrant, contrast it nicely and lift it. Which is good as I didn't want to re paint it.

After painting I was a little concerned about it looking a little mono tone.

It makes it look more realistic.

Just a few WIP's of the silo piece. I decided to go with the rusted suggestion. I looked up a couple of tutorials on some techs and got cracking. Quite happy for a first attempt. I have just done the transfers so waiting for it to dry overnight before some varnish to seal them. Then on to a heavy dose of ink.
I started with a cast iron effect spray, it is a textured spray, gives it a rough texture.

Finished in a few days

The painting and transfers are done now and base painted as well. I am waiting on some more alien undergrowth, which is winging it's way from china even as I type.
Will update as soon as they arrive.

I have struggled to do any painting with the Olympics on, but have done some terrain work.
I've been working on the power plant piece I started years ago. I had issues with the main building of it. I rushed it first time and didn't have enough materials to finish it as I wanted. It then warped over time as I used the wrong glue for the plasticard.
So I've been rebuilding it to go with a new set of terrain I'm doing,  a run down industrial world set. Proper grim dark industry.
Here is the wip. Rebuilt the main building and added a second storey  to it. Just needs detailing and hand rails.
I cut down a low energy blub to make the tesla coil. It's glass so will have to be careful with it.

Looking good so far, is that an ood ball cock I see there? I think it was your thread using the square edged cutters as underground shelters/stc buildings, some good use of diy extras here.

No the ball is a Ferraro Roche Xmas special packaging thing. I pick up loads of bits at work for terrain, random packaging stuff is best.

Wondering if you've considered making some terrain that is suitable for a solar power collecting facility?

I like the light bulb idea. I might steal it. I've got a fair few of those bulbs lying around as I went round the house replacing everything with leds.

Couldnt you have used some plumbing pipe ends instead of a lightbulb for a similar effect?

It looks awesome, though. Can't wait to see it painted.

It's amazing just what the spray does to the terrain. Awesome and can't wait to see this finished.

Excellent stuff!

Be careful with that bulb though, the contents are poisonous.

I've already, carefully, cut the bottom of and release the gases inside. Don't worry. I'm just worried about it breaking as it is glass.

Thanks for the compliments though.

Looked great unpainted, looks even better with the mono colour paint coat, I'm really wondering how great it will look when completed.
