Can't say I'm too keen on Imirk's starting location. I get that they are trying to make other armies face each other more on the Mortal Empires map but meh.

On the other race notes, I thought Kislev was one of the certain ones for Warhammer 3? Also Dogs of War really need to be in the game not in the GW 5th edition way but more along my old unofficial army book from the 6th, where it is a catch all term to cover the armies of the southern Old World. Estalia, Tilea, and the Border Princes need a real rework to not just make them extra Empire factions with poor number of regions. Doesn't do all that much for Skavenblight starts really. I mean Legendary Lords Borgio with the Miragiliano faction, Lupo for a Luccini faction, and make up a third for Estalia and it becomes a whole lot more interesting. Hell you wouldn't even need to do the Estalia bit, moving Pizzaro up from a Hero to Lord and plop him in the New World where they already use the legions flag.

I'm okay with Imrik's starting location because Ulthuan is a bit crowded. In ME its just Tyrion and Alladriel and they spread everyone else around the map (Alith Anar in Naggarond, Teclis in Lustria, Eltherion in the Waste Lands, Imrik in the far east in the Plains of Bones). In Vortex campaign they put Eltharion in Ulthuan rubbing up against Tyrion. Plus after like turn 20 Imrik can confederate Caledor on Ulthuan.

To be fair, they haven't announced/shown anything official yet for WH3 so its all speculation based on what was on tabletop. So they are possible. CA could create a "Nations of Men" faction where you can play as non-empire humans which would include literally everyone you posted about S.O.F. I just hope CA considers it. There are some great Mods for WH2 that do add legendary playable Lords for Estalia and a few others and they have had a lot of care put into them.

I just dumped $2200 into a new gaming rig so I will be picking up TW II immediately.  Looking forward to it!

I forgot to mention they also already have a mercenary mechanic for Bandit styled factions in Three Kingdoms that would fit perfectly with a Dogs of War introduction.

I posted this on the total war reddit. I figured I'd share it here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/totalwar/comments/gsvc8e/some_concept_ideas_for_tw3/

This isn't a petition nor any kind of demand or prediction. These are just some ideas I've thought about that would be cool to see in TW3. I just want to get them out of my head and out into the community.

Existing Factions

*Chaos -perhaps one way to make them more fun or interesting is to give them some repeatable missions for each chaos God that allows you to get specific army buffs or recruit chaos God specific units (like nurgle chosen that have more HP, or tzeentch chaos knights that have Ward saves, etc). Another idea (which could be for daemons of chaos instead) is to have those Empire like intervention events but instead of defending an elector count settlement, a local chaos cult has summoned a warp gate, allowing you to attack and raze settlements. You could combine the two concepts making these chaos incursions dedicated to a random chaos God and if you win you can recruit those chaos God specific units. This may also help stem the order tide since it razes settlements, crippling economies. You can also use it to spread chaos corruption for added attrition/rebellions.

*Beastmen -These guys need some love. If daemons of chaos are showing up in TW3, then not only should Chaos get a rework, but these guys too. Not sure what could be done with them. One idea I was throwing around was having an Allariel like campaign map ability, but instead of causing settlement growth, it can cause a special kind of chaos corruption with a chance of spawning additional beastmen bray-heard armies. The idea is to have a way for beastmen to raze settlements and have a way to keep them down before or while the AI resettles.

*Wood Elves

the amber mechanic really needs a rework, or changed all together. It would also be cool to have a change of local. Perhaps have a LL in those mini-tree of ages that are in the empire or south lands?

*Norsca -not sure what needs to be done for these guys. They could use a touch up and perhaps a LL or two elsewhere like in Naggoroth or the one near Mazdamundi in Lustria.

*Dwarfs -same with these guys. Maybe spread out some new LL in Lustria or Southlands.

*Empire -Give Volkmar his own faction. Maybe in Ostland? He can fight vampires and be the first to repel chaos (as far as the empire goes).

New Factions

*Daemons of Chaos -One LL for each chaos God with each having their own unique rosters. Perhaps including those chaos incursions mechanics I mentioned earlier.

*Ogre Kingdoms

port it from the table top. Should be fun, especially with a skaven like or Grom like food mechanic.

*Chaos Dwarfs -More chaos in my end times! Perhaps placing them in the east and south mountainous areas of the map?

*Kingdoms of Men

This should be a fun new faction that could include human armies that don't necessarily fit bretonnian or Empire's electors but have their own flavor.

-Kislev: ice magic mages, bear cavalry, tundra/ice acceptable climate, and other TT inclusions. The faction should be lead by the Ice Tzarina herself.

-Estalia and Tilea: Would make for great co-op campaigns. Having a LL for each should be fun. Perhaps they could have trading or anti-pirate focuses? CA can use their creativity to make them stand apart from the empire a bit as well as from each other.

-Araby: Yes I know CA said that they don't have any plans on including them, but having a human faction in the Southlands would add some flavor (perhaps replace that empire faction in the land of dervishes?). Reskin some empire units, add elephants, flying carpet like air cavalry to rival bretonnians, have genie like agents that can damage walls, steal money from other Factions (tomb raiding), or be a monsterous creature on the battlefield. The old TT model range was nice and can give CA something to work with.

-Dogs Of War: A horde like human faction with unique mercenary units like the TT. They can have a special mercenary contract mechanic allowing them to be paid for joining wars with any faction and add in some diplomatic immunity from negative diplomatic modifiers so they can change sides easily (what with being mercenaries and all).

Summonable Legends
With the end times coming, along with new LL available for factions, I think having a Kroaq like summonable Lord or Hero for each race would add some end times flavor. Having them unlocked via quests, current faction mechanics, controlling certain settlements/landmarks or any combination of those can make it interesting. Here's a list on possible characters to be these Lord's or Heros. Some current factions already have them.

*Empire: Valten. He could be a LL or LH depending on how CA wants to approach it. Make it so Karl Franz can give him Sigmar's hammer would be cool too.

*Bretonnia: Already has the green knight.

*Lizardmen: already has Kroaq

*Vampire Counts: Nagash. Perhaps you have to own his home settlement and do some quest hoop jumping. I would also give this to Arkhan.

*Skaven: VerminKing/Lord. Perhaps doing council of 13 missions to summon him?

*Dwarf: Bugman? He can buff the dwarfs with his legendary brews.

*Orcs: ??

*Vampire Coast: ???

*High Elves: Finubar? The Phoenix King could be summoned for campaign map buffs or inspire his army or an army. Ideally he could be used in any army.

*Dark Elves: Shadowblade? An Uber assassin.

*Tomb Kings: Apophas seems like a good fit.

*Beastmen: ???

*Wood Elves: Ariel, avatar of Isha.

*Ogre Kingdoms: ???

*Daemons of Chaos: ???

*Chaos Dwarfs: ???

*Kingdoms of Men: An El Cid like LH may fit the bill.

Maybe some other Lore Buffs could fill in those blanks or suggest some better options.

I could go into some new LL for each faction but I think that's been done to death. Crossing fingers for Toddy and The Red Duke though.

Hi all! It has been quite a while since I was here, but my old pal Wissenlander suggested this was a good place to plug my YouTube series of Total War battles as and campaign.

I was mostly a lurker here, but I daresay many will be familiar with my co-conspirator Siberius as he was very prolific back in the day. I'm dropping in a link to the overall TWW2 playlist, but there are specific lists for the campaign and our various battles. The channel has non-TW content also and Siberius has just started uploading Blood Bowl vids on his channel

If any of that sounds like your cup of tea, please click the link below and feel free to provide advice, criticism, etc.

Don't worry, he'll no doubt stick his nose in here. I cross-posted to another forum and he replied there instead.

And yeah, far too long on the sidelines but haven't played actual Warhammer in forever. My vintage Deathclaw has most recently seen action as a summoned mount for my level 17 Dragonborn paladin (after whom the YouTube channel was named). He's fought well at least.

So I took a look, and watched "Zelgrax and Siberius Co-op - Ep1".  It was entertaining.  I'd never seen such a video game before.  I could see how this could get addicting and time consuming ... lol.  I found the battles to be the most interesting part, yet probably because I'm not familiar with all the other aspects.

One side issue, I found the volume to be low.  I had the youtube volume on max, and my computer volume on max, but it was still too low.

Thanks for the feedback! I have been working on getting the volume better on my end - there's an awkward tightrope to walk of boosting it enough so it is clearly heard above the background sounds but not so much that even the tiniest room noises are heard. I think I did make some changes to the setup after the first recording session, so if you keep watching you'll hopefully notice an improvement on that front.

Episode 17 of the campaign just went live, so there's plenty to sink your teeth into if you are enjoying it. If you prefer the battles then we have plenty of those each with a little post-mortem dissection as well. I believe 14 are currently available for viewing, with two more scheduled for this week.

And yes, the game itself is definitely addictive. I've put many hours into previous versions of Total War (Medieval, Rome, Medieval 2) but when one came along combining those mechanics with the world I'd been playing in for 15 years, it was a no brainer. Obviously my first campaign was as our noble emporer, Karl Franz.

What was funny is I was watching a Gov. Cuomo conference with the press, and when it ended I jumped back to the youtube home page and your Episode 17 was on the page ... I'd watched Episode 1 this morning, and the youtube software is already popping up your newest effort, and that was humorous ... lol!

If I watch another one, does it make sense to take them in order?

I'm glad YouTube is doing its job and making good recommendations! The campaign should definitely be watched chronologically as should the Counterstrikes battles, since they use a winner stays on approach. The other battles can be watched however you'd like

Well that is something I didn't know they added:

When I got all the elector counts the campaign was finished so I closed out of the game. Apparently you can pull this off after you get all the elector count states and assign elector counts.

I posted this in the Gamer Thread but felt I should put it here too:

Warhammer Total War 2 announced there will be another Lord Pack on the horizon. It will be Wood Elves and one other Legendary Lord, but from a Warhammer TW2 faction (I'm guessing Skaven so all of the OG WHTW2 races have 6 lords). If you have the Wood Elves DLC from WHTW1 you will also get a free wood elf LL (separate from the one mentioned above) that will be available in Mortal Empires (rumor has it, its probably Ariel). The wood elves are going to get a complete rework and they mentioned adding a new hero unit "that everyone can enjoy." I have a feeling its a wood elf hero too to compliment their changes and expand their roster.

https://www.totalwar.com/blog/dev-blog-july-2020/

I am guessing the DLC wood elf lord is going to be in the south lands since there is already a Wood Elf faction there. As for the other legendary lord, my guess is Skaven (Clan Moulder) and they will probably be in a different location in ME than they are in Vortex (like Clan Skryre). Lustria and the Southlands (with the WE addition) seems a bit crowded so my guess is probably up in Naggaroth or an island to the north of Ulthuan.

Well this just dropped 2 hours ago from Total War:

Azyr Stirs:

Speculation is everywhere. Is it for the final promised DLC for Warhammer 2? Or is it the first teaser for Warhammer 3?

Lots of lore to unpack here, but its exciting.
