the web-site version is rediculous to a point far beyond absurdity.  (as is Thyrus)

the rest of the old special characters are very well done, and should be street-legal, but those two are just silly.

jmho.

Well, what would You regard Archaon then? ;)

I think, at least his "Incarnation of Sigmar" rule will be gone now, since we all know, WHO is the true incarnation of Sigmar now.
And he won't be wielding Ghal Maraz anymore.

It's very disapointing that the 'new' karl-Franz is just a rerelease with a weapon swap. I have never liked that model (which is why I didn't buy it the first time around), and it now looks very dated indeed. In particular, the griffon looks stylised and cartoonish (a common failing of 4th/5th edition models) compared to the more 'realistic' look of the current griffon (yes, I know griffons don't really exist but the 6th edition version looks more like a real animal).
Hey, I could still beat up a woman!

Nuts, I was hoping for a new model.  Ah well I guess I can save some money, all I have to do is cut off my models hammer hand and replace with a sword.

As for his stats I think the only changes would be to drop the Incarnation of Sigmar rule and replace the hammer with a Runefang.  I don’t see why his other rules and equipment (Leader of Men, the Silver Seal, etc.) would be changed. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

if you want a more realistic looking "current griffon" you could buy the current griffon model plus just the KF model from mail order and put him on the current one.

I'd pay an extra 15 points or so to be able to take the engineer out back and shoot him.

If you dropped the Incarnation of Sigmar and the Hammer, Karl Franz will drop way down in points, and he won't be OTT.  They could probably make his rules official at this point.

And I do agree queek...Thyrus Gormann is way too good (D6+1 Fireball, 2D6+2 Firey Blast, D6+1 Conflageration, + to spell range).  He needs some toning down.
Actually, forget Karl-Franz. I want rules for Thyrus Gorman on a dragon. - Rufus Sparkfire
