Shows how slow I am still not done Khorgorath, so will dig it out and finish by end of March.
What I wanted to ask, has anyone bought the Gryphon Hounds, wanted to know what size they are.

They are the same size as the ones that come with the Lord-Castellant or Lord-Veritant.  They come with 40mm bases, but can just about fit on a 32mm.   If you wanted to put them on square bases, 20x40mm will do (Or 2 20x20mm stuck together and gap filled)

Thanks Oxycutor, but does not help much since I have neither of these figures. So if I put one against the old mounted knight, how far up the figure would the hound come ?

Sound like definitely actual hound size, not appropriate as a mount then?

Maybe as Halfling cavalry. :-P

The regular ones are about the size of a Empire soldier while the Silver Tower one is much smaller.

You can see one here near some Greywater soldiers:

The Silver Tower Gryph-Hound is the same size as they baby griffon from the Empire State Troops set, so actual dog sized    The rest though are much bigger, almost twice as long and tall, but nowhere near as big as a horse.   Probably slightly smaller than the Sabretusks from the Ogre Kingdoms range.

Up against a horse the top of the body could be barely at the underside of a horse and the top of the head maybe up as far as the saddle

Thought I might as well try and get a picture, then it's more obvious

Regular Gryph-hounds are as tall as a man, and the one that comes with the Execlsior Warpriest from Silver Tower is smaller

Handsome painting Oxycutor!

Hmm, i see what you mean by the size. Just slightly too small to be a convincingly proportioned mount.
They are cool models though - still need to figure out the use.

I've finally made a start on Mr Khorgorath, still some more green stuff covering to do, also thinking of putting horns on his head.

Gah, why did he need a weapon!? Isn't that a bit overkill considering everything else about that horror?
