Hi Guy's,

I've returned to the hobby & have picked up where I left off with my army of Eastern Stirland. having re-jigged things to fit 8th edition I'm happy to report two stirland victories from my first two games.

Below are a couple of pictures, taken form my second game with me updated army. More pictures will follow shortly.

The Ironskulls swordsmen after taking five casualties from Vampire magic

Their Unit filler, a poor Stirlander getting pulled into an open grave. Dwellers Below, perhaps?

Raven Takers a Stir River patrol archer unit, having performed a stand & shoot, fled the following combat, only to outrun the charrot, rally & finish it off in the next round.

This looks like some really good stuff!

Like how the Iron Skull Dudes have a both colourfull but still uniform style.

And yes the filler is brilliant!

Hi Guy's

Thanks for your kind words. I'm still trying to get a photoshoot sorted, but came accross some older pics & thought I'd share them in the mean time.

The first of forty swordsmen I painted.

The horn blower, a conversion of an old GW model from way back

Heinrich, a front rank soldier & one of the characters from my 'short' story

Some free company (I now have about 80) more pics will follow...

couldn't agree more Jhig, we may be poor but we're always up for a good fight.

Some more pic's from the second games Vs a Vampire Beastmen alliance.

A picture of my cannon, it's blue beacuse it's been looted for a middenheim force. it saves money Stirland doesn't have if we can just take someone else's expensive stuff.

& here is a picture of how a direct hit from a great cannon can make your opponents look... four blood knights with one shot, didn't go down too well.

I have another game arranged for tonight so will look to take some better pictures & share them with you.

Very gritty; the army really nails the feel I expect from a Stirland force.  Well done.   :eusa_clap:
Definitely interested in seeing more of those Free Companies.  Oh, and the Swordsman unit filler...perfect.
Let them taste Reikland steel!

Aye lets hope so, In truth I have a WIP flute player that will be the musician.

I have the much stuff to finish it's unreal. 2 years away from WFB has taken it's toll & I sold some units before a house move & really regretting it now.

Anyway, here are a couple of more detailed pics of my swordsmen.

C&C as always is most welcome

Thanks for your comments guys, I'm glad the grittiness I intended, has come across.

That's one of the reasons I chose Stirland in the first place.

Anyway, here are a couple more pictures, I'm not too sure about the banner & make change it for the stirland skeleton blowing the hunting horn?
Let me know what you think?

I think yoiu should keep the Standard as it is!
Looks wonderful and adds to the units unique feel. After all not all Stirland regiments have a hornblowing skeleton...

Thanks Spjuth, but I'm still not totally convinced. I'll leave it for now & do some 'unattached' flags, which I'll post on here to see if people prefer them.

Anyway, here are a few WIP pics of my Pistolliers, let me know what you think/

Oh & a teaser around whatelse is in the pipe line, just because I'm nasty like that

nice how many Scottish swords is that?

''they can never take our freedom''!

Ask yourself , what is real? 5 sense filtered reality is a very limited perspective.

I don't understand the scotish reference mate?

Ok, So little to report on the painting front, I've completed the pistolliers, but will need to take some pictures.

I have however been busy putting together a nice centre piece for the army in the shape of a GOTE mounted on a Griffon. Still very early stages, but I'd like to know what people think?

Should I greenstuff some barding on the mount or leave the griffon as is?

& here is an early stage WIP for an Empire Cannon, I need to add a hat, cod piece, feathers etc to pimp the ogre up & i'm going to include the powder monkey some how, maybe standing on the brute's shoulders?

C&C welcome

Lovely colours mate. I like the grubby muted yellows and greens.

Which bits did you use for Konrad?
Nordland is really cool. They fight pirates and party on the beach. Sort of like a Disney film.

Thanks mate, much appreciated.

The easy answer is a part from every where.

Now for the more in depth answer, let me think...

legs - artillery sprue, green stuffed boots
torso - militia sprue
arms - archer kit (green stuffed shoulder armour)
head - Greatswords kit
gorget & doube scabbard - Generals sprue
empty scabbard - Knights kit
wine bottle - pistolliers kit
skull - flaggie kit
helmet - perry miniatures 100 years war mercinery kit (the greatswords kit has a similar one)
Dog - bretonian men-at-arms

Bet you wished you'd never asked?

Griffin would be fine as it is, but if you greenstuffed armor it would be awesome.  Depends on how adventurous you feel!
Me and Wissenlander had babies!

not together.

finding photographic evidense that Wiss smiles is going to be hard...
