Stormcast Eternals and rules for 8th edition
« on: July 08, 2015, 07:05:56 PM »
So my plan is to build my Stormcasts on square bases (if I end up buying them) so I can use them for 8th edition too, not just Age of Sigmar.
Does anyone have a good set of 8th ed. rules for them? Maybe use Blightkings as a baseline and give the standard hammer+shield Eternals something like WS5, LD9 and reduce T to 4.
So something like this:

M - WS - BS - S - T - W - I - A - LD
4  -  5   -  4   - 4 - 4 - 3  - 5 - 3 - 9

Equipment: Mastercrafted plate armour, Sigmarite Greatshield, Sigmarite Warhammers

Mastercrafted plate armour : Grants the model a 3+ armour save.

Sigmarite Greatshield : As per normal shield rules. (6+ armour, 6+ parry). Model may reroll armour save rolls of 1.

Sigmarite Warhammers : May reroll 1's to wound against anything from Warriors of Chaos, Daemons of Chaos, Beastmen, Vampire Counts and Tomb Kings army books.

The winged bastards could have 2 hand weapons using the warhammers. Also fly.
They also have some kind of scrolls on them so could give them something like:

Blessed by Sigmar: Model benefits from a 6+ ward save. This save is increased to a 5+ against anything from WoC, DoC, Beatmen, VC and TK army books.

Basically make them stronger against Chaotic/Undead enemies. They might be a bit too strong against them now.
Open to any suggestions!

Don't come here and whine about how bad Age of Sigmar or the models are!

But they are bad!  :icon_biggrin:

You could probably use them as "count as"  Chaos Warriors, but you need many more units to make the army work, which they may not have (for e.g. Marauders or Cavalry)

Like it. Here is what I would suggest (mostly just streamlining as written);

M - WS - BS - S - T - W - I - A - LD
4  -  5   -  4   - 4 - 4 - 3  - 5 - 3 - 9

Equipment: Sigmarite plate armour, Sigmarite Greatshield, Sigmarite Warhammers

Sigmarite plate armour & greatshield : Grants the model a 2+ armour save, with a parry of 6+. Because of the innate strength of Sigmarite, natural save rolls of 1 may be re-rolled.

Sigmarite Warhammers : May reroll 1's to wound against anything from Warriors of Chaos, Daemons of Chaos, Beastmen, Vampire Counts and Tomb Kings army books.

I would give the winged fellows +1 attack for additional weapon, Fly, and obviously the reduced AS appropriate. I would also give them a ranged attack, because they have that in AoS.

In my own head I was thinking of using the main guys on foot as Blightkings, the winged angels as Morgast (Spelling? The new models from Nagash), the dude on chicken as a griffon and I was mostly trying to figure out what the two handed weapons guys could be.

I like the stream lined profile posted above, it seems pretty reasonable.

If you want to use an existing profile, maybe Ironguts would be a good choice?

But if I understand you correctly, you want the rules to represent their fluff, and insofar Ironguts are probably not the best idea.

Mostly I was just comparing them to similar things to give me a base line.

M - WS - BS - S - T - W - I - A - Ld
4 - 5 - 3 - 4 - 4 - 2 - 4 - 2 - 8
Stubborn - they are coming from the warp and don't scare easily
Fly - they have wings
I'd keep the armour save light, due to their wings.  Yes they are in full plate, but they also need to fly.  In addition, smart enemies would target their wings.  I'd give them a 4+ armour save (3+ if equipped with shield).

I'd give them rerolls of one if within 12" of a priest of sigmar.  I vision a priest of sigmar on the battlefield and then the sigmarite guys show up to help defend the race of man from the evil chaos.

Hatred towards anything with chaos in it (daemons and warriors of chaos).

EEFL forum has rules for them too. Looking at similar stat lines plus 5+ ward. They are essentially angels or...good demons.

Is the forum open to public by now?
Can't find it by doing some quick google searches.
