A teaser trailer has leaked and is visible in theaters. It revealed that a full trailer will release Sept 9th followed by trailer clips of the movie, and reading around the net the movie is slated to come out in theaters Dec 18th. I was able to catch it on twitter and it gave me chills! I. AM. SO. HYPED!

Unfortunately WB has been going ham on take downs of the video on youtube, twitter, and other social media so its hard to find for me to link.
I found this one on reddit and its from someone that captured it with his phone in a theater.

Not much to that trailer.

Have the book, if I recall, bought on sale when a book store was going out of business.  Maybe I will read it.

If you haven't read it yet GP, I highly suggest you do. That book inspired the creation of Star Wars, Warhammer 40K, and Game of Thrones. Probably other scifi and fantasy stories as well. Its an easy read. The movie from the 80s is a rough interpretation (personally not a fan and can't get through it), and the late 90s early 2000s SciFi Miniseries is accurate to the books, but the production, costumes, and CGI are a bit left to be desired (but I quite enjoyed it and have re watched it several times!).

Here's some pictures, since the only video I could find is soft definition at best:

Those pictures look better than that clip.  Maybe because the clip wasn't lighted well in the theater.

Yeah, its a shame WB has been so vicious in its takedowns of the teaser trailer, especially so close to the drop of the actual trailer. I was lucky enough to have seen a decent run of it on twitter this morning, but by the time I had a chance to get the computer (to share it here) it was taken down and this rough phone recording in a theater is the best I could find.

Believe I saw a longer clip previously, and it looked good.

Checked to see if I had dug out the Dune series when unpacking further back, but not yet.  Still in another box of books somewhere.  Maybe I'll get to working on some more unpacking during this upcoming 3 day weekend.

By the way, saw my five sci-fi books by Donaldson called the Gap Series.  Recall buying and reading those as they came out, yet believe I didn't read the last one.  Might start from the beginning again, recall they were a fun and easy read, but I digress.

Pretty sure I posted that already, but then again it gets taken down almost immediately. Well we're finally getting a trailer tomorrow so I am pretty hyped. They are probably doing these trailer of a trailer of a trailer to give some sort of hype since normally they would have been shown in movie theaters over the summer and the lockdown has pretty much shut down that avenue. They probably just want to create some extra hype in place of it.

Don't talk to me about that blooming carroccio! We are in the middle of a huge play by email battle, and that blooming thing has proved to be a right waste of time!

Well - so, so

I liked the original version with Kyle MacLachan, Jean Luc, and Sting

I'd like to watch the original again, saw it when it came out, yet want to read the book before either.

I can't get through the 80s movie. I'm just not a fan. Quite liked the scifi miniseries though. This new one is very promising!

Anyone else noticed they said "crusade" instead of "jihad" by chance?
