awesome! I love the new Nordland allies for your dwarfs! I'd also love to see your Dwarf/Empire army in action! Hopefully maybe even some empire civil war stuff!

Looking great! Good to see you still working on all this.

How is the shed coming along? :)

Welcome aboard. Mind you, this is not the fastest train...

Looking great! Good to see you still working on all this.

Thanks. Yes, slow & steady. The shed is still an open wound. Not going to happen in the near future at the moment. Too many more pressing matters around the house to pour money into.

Hello, hello! Summer is upon us. And has been for a while which somewhat derailed warhammering. I missed the last Tale game day at the end of June by vacationing in the Old Country. But, I did finish the monthly hobby before hopping on that jet plane.
Behold, a mighty Steam Tank:

It’s in the colors of Nuln to fit in with my earlier Engineer’s Guild army. Kind of rounds out that force. It will stick out a bit in the current Nordland allies force but, so be it.

This Steam Tank came to me partially assembled and I didn’t want to face ripping it apart and dealing with ill-fitting parts. Just went with it as is, adding on the missing bits in plastic. Now on some joints, glue (or filler?) had been applied rather liberally, I painted that up as some kind of rust and grime, it’s most visible around the door. It’ll do.

Looking forward to running over things but, since we are on summer break that won’t be until the end of August. In the meantime stay cool, my friends.

Thanks guys!

Time for an update on the last chapter in the little Tale.

-----------
7Sep2023
Well, August came and left. I painted up the last batch of ~200pts for our little Tale of X Gamers.

A detachment of swordsmen to go with the Halberdiers. Nothing to special, just good old-fashioned plastic soldiers doing their thing.

And then a warrior priest to round out the force. Somehow I had ended up with a spare Volkmar and put him to good use.

Here is a little group shot of the whole gang.

This ended up as a nice extension to the Nordland force. I may do a few more of the Knights at some point but currently the Dark Gods are whispering into my ears, tempting me to paint some unholy models.

Oh, and we played a nice big game at the end where everybody got to bring their entire force painted in the Tale. It was a good time that I failed to properly document as usual. Will see if I can scrounge up some pictures at least.

Thanks for your continued patronage of this little thread.

Here are pictures from our final game as the main lines collided. My poor Empire lads got clobbered by some mean Beastmen. It was not the finest day for the Empire.

Still, lots of painted models on the table, all done for and during our Tale. There is less grey in the world now and that's a win.

Did the orcs bash apart the skeletons or did the skeletons slowly overcome the orcs?

There was a vampire lord with the skeletons. Overcome they did but it was anything but slow  :-P

One of the funniest things I've ever seen on the tabletop is two 40+ groups of zombies slowly advancing on each other
