8th Edition Mega-Battle/US Northeast
« on: April 29, 2016, 02:05:54 PM »
Daboyz GT will be doing something a little different for Warhammer Fantasy this year. We plan to run a large mega-battle over 2 days (out with the tournament jerks and in with beer and pretzel fun). We are looking to have 10-12 players and are "recruiting" guys to maybe even travel to this rare event.

The game will take place in Canandaigua, NY on November 5-6 (setup and pick-up battles on Friday, November 4). It takes place at a beautiful scenic lodge/hotel (Bristol Harbor Resort) on the Finger Lakes.

If you still love Warhammer Fantasy Battles and want to hang out with W-E and EEFL crew, consider joining us.

*******

Because this game is a presentation of the hobby at a GT, we do require all participants to field completely painted and based armies. Army sized can and will be around 5000 points.

I am from Barcelona, so it's impossible to go, but I applause your project. So:  :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap:
BUT, take a lot of photos, videos, pictures, even child drawings to repport it!
Good luck!

Times are bad but, not bad enough to travel across a continent for a game of warhammer...just yet.

But, I salute you. It's going to be great!

Looking forward to the pictures already.

I've kind of given up on WFB & 8th, but might be tempted back for a moment by a beer & pretzles mega battle. Looks like I'm only about 4 hrs away. 5000 pts per army, you say?

Would depend on finding affordable accomodations, and my schedule.

Sounds fun, if it weren't quite so north I'd love to jump in, but that's too long a haul for me. Take lots of pics!

Is it going to be a straight-up 8th ed. game, or are there house/EEFL rules?

If I go, I imagine it starts something like this...

It's not to far across the border from me, I'd certainly be interested in going to something like this. It depends a bit on what the exchange rate is like when the time comes.

That video is perfect!
The only EEFL thing would be is someone were using any of the updated lists.
Armies I am sure will be there:

Empire, Dwarves, Ogres, Tomb Kings(very minor EEFL update), Goblins,  EEFL Bretonnians, and WoC.

There will be a special scenario. The only thing close to house rules will be tweaks to keep the game moving. We do not want 8 players standing around while 2 guys spend 45 to resolve a magic phase, for example.

KevinC is the GM and will, I'm sure, cook up something appropriate for a game of this magnitude.

If I can make it -- and it's still a pretty big "if" at this point -- I would bring Empire. :closed-eyes: I'm sure some of the local tournament guys are going to be there, so I'll see if I can keep up with their plans and see if that helps me work out some accommodations.
