Title: Think this is scary enough?
Post by: Zegroth on June 09, 2006, 05:08:36 PM: I know this is not a chaos forum, but I am mainly an empire player and hang out here most of the time. So I thought you fellows could offer me some opinions.

There is a RTT coming up tommorow and I have decided to try a chaos army.

If you guys could give me your opinions on this I would be grateful :-)

2000 pts

Lord, Dragon, Gaze of the gods, Great Weapon
Sorcerer, level 1 with 2 scrolls

19 Marauders with LA, HW, SHD, Full Command
19 Marauders with LA, HW, SHD, Full Command
13 Chaos warriors, Full Command, Shields
5 Horsemen, Flails, Musc
5 Horsemen, Flails, Musc
5 Knights, naked

2 Tuskgor Chariots
3 Minitaurs, GW

2 Spawns

Basically use the spawns to hold weak stuff while the infantry ingage the enemy and the horses cover the flanks. Dragon there for terror+2 Breath weapons along with a crack speedy assault unit.

Why are Marauders in units of 19, instead of 20? The other might stay as it is due to the Sorc joining them, but... Or are you not including Champions in the unit's model count?

The Dragon strikes me as helluva expensive :P

Spawns into Fiends, Firewyrms, Bloodbeasts or whatever. It's just 30 pts to upgrade both.

I find that idea scary enough! The dragon is useful, but may be too many eggs (particularly with an expensive chaos lord riding side saddle) in the novelty basket. The marauders need (try archaon's horde as you get free command upgrades for 25 models), and the warriors are probably dead weight. And definately upgrade spawn - i recomend tzeentch or slaanesh - flying spawn always scare people (even if they dont *actually* fly)
