I haven't been very active on this site this past month, but I thought I'd post some picture of my not-so-recently-completed but recently photographed Matteus Hertwig (my General), my pistoliers and my handgunners. Then I saw some of the works recently posted in the Brush and Palette and had second thoughts...but what the hell:


Matteus Hertwig, brother of Wolfram Hertwig and commander of Bechafen. Forgot the horse's eyes, yes I know:

Not too bad mate, not too bad at all. The color scheme is good and the units look coherent. It might be the pictures, but you might want to put more effort to your highlights and inks. Good job nontheless! *thumbs up*

HC_andersen: Yes, my camera wreaks havoc with the purple in particular.

Ratarsed: Correctly observed! The horses are old (and I mean old...) and have been painted and repainted many times, and the tails have long since been broken. Like Grutch I have been waiting for new Empire horses for years. Finally got some with the pistoliers, but you can't buy them separately, so I'm waiting for an opportunity to grab some. And of course, waiting for new barded warhorses, along with the rest of you...

but why you did not choose Wolfram Hertwig as your general!? :unsure:

I feel your pain, I have been known to buy second hand 'battle master' models and 5th ed bret knights just to keep tails on my horses. Wolves are worse because the damn things never come up,  I resorted to making them out of White Wolf cloaks.

Anyway, moan over, yes, nice colour scheme, agree there could be more work on highlighting,this shows up most on the horses I think.

There's some lovely old models there.

Presumably, he has a Runefang, and my general does not :-D

Also, Matteus Hertwig is mentioned in "Sigmar's Heirs" as in command of Bechafen.
