Hi all,
Long time lurker who's finally found my cable for my camera. And done some re-arranging of furniture in order to put my stuff on display.
Anyway, I've been collecting since 3rd edition, so that's 20 years. And I really have an embarassing amount of painted stuff to show for it. However, I do have 30000 points worth of stuff.
I'll be posting more stuff in the new few weeks as I'm going on a major effort to get some colour on this stuff, and I'm re-basing everything from boring old goblin green to a more up-to-date style.
Unfortunately I don't have a big enough space to put the whole lot together, so here it is in parts
The painted stuff:-

The not painted stuff, and the stuff to be re-painted:-
(http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m211/Oxycutor/ARMY3.jpg)
And the big pile of plastic sprues:-
(http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m211/Oxycutor/ARMY4.jpg)
As I said, lots of stuff, and more pics soon
-
Holy F.
-
I don't think you have enough stuff.... :icon_eek: :icon_exclaim:
-
-
Good Lord man!
could set up a game vs. any five of us probably!
Some of those models are nostalgic, I still have some of them myself. Any close ups on the way of some of them?
-
I know exactly, (no, no, not accurate enough)EXACTLY how you feel, I just wish the models would paint themselves  welcome and good to see another old timer hanging around.
-
welcome, watch out you will get the bits trolls stalking you
-
ah man i still have those halbadier models!!! And i still use them occasionally. I converted them into town guard but i guess they are starting to look dated now, ive just not liked any of the halbadier models since those bad boys, there just not 'gritty' enough now.
-
OMG! I thougt my collection of unpainted models was big
and I'm re-basing everything from boring old goblin green to a more up-to-date style.
All my models from the ninetees are based with that awfull green flock and painted in goblin green. I remember thinking it looked great :eusa_wall:. Strange how that has changed completely hehe. I probably liked it because the eavy metall tem painted their bases in the same style. Keep up the rebasing, you hav some work to do :icon_wink:
-
Gill says that, after his last post is him trying to go after bitz. :-P
@Oxycutor: My god, that's a hell of a lot of stuff.
*picks up jaw up off the floor*
-
HOLY CR#P
-
Hey Oxycutor, you've really made my day!
Somebody who actually has more Empire stuff to paint than me!
Impressive army though, and lots of nice older edition figs which I like. It would be good to see some individual unit pics to see some detail.
-
well, you won't get bored for a while,
even without buying new mini's ;)
can you show us more of the old mini's painted?
-
That's a lot of stuff... :icon_eek:

I bet he lives next to Steveb
-
My guess would be those are the pics of steveb's empire bitzbox :icon_lol:.
Nice collection there, I'm looking forward to seeing more painted stuff.
-
wow
-
Very impressive! That is when I started with Empire too - and you have way more completed than I do!
-
This it it? :icon_neutral:
-
you may take your place on the right wing when we fight the apocalyptic battle, I have the center and the left and reserves covered. Danny and acadioan will be the prussians coming in on the second day.
:biggriin:steveb your stuff really is impressive, I have never been able to get it all laid out at one time, I am envious. steveb
-
I'm away for work at the moment, so can't get any more photos done for a few days, but there will be more coming as soon as I can.....
-
Holy...
Thats a lot of Imperials!!!!
-
Well youve made me feel better about the unpaited unit I have before I bought the next stuff. Seriously batch paint those guys
-
Got some more pics to add. This is my Reiksguard Foot Knights. They're in my Altdorf division of my army, though as the fluff at the time said they were recruited from across the Empire, they're painted with individual province colours. Also they're a mixture of the 4th edition Citadel Minis and the 3rd Edition Marauder Minis. Some of the Marauder Minis had the plumes swapped with some 3rd Edition Citadel Knights, a decision I now regret, as I'd like to have those old 3rd edition knights as a unit of Reiksguard.
Also here is the Captain that for a long while was a General, converted from the armoured champion with pistol by the addition of a cloak, and a face swap with a 4th Ed handgunner, and the original face put to use as the helmet in the up position.
Anway, enough waffling on, here are the pics

I'm busy this weekend, but I'll try and get some more pics up soon
-
I love the cloak on the Reiksguard champ. excellent work!
-
Looks great as well! I am also using foot knights as unit champions and characters (etc etc). Thank you for the motivation!
-
Awesome... I love the models, your a brave man for working with older models...
-
They weren't considered older models when I got them, they were the latest thing at the time. They've been tidied up a bit that's pretty much how they've looked since I painted them 15 years ago. But the bases have just been redone, and the dust brushed off
-
More oldschool minis  And they're so beautifully colorful. :biggriin:
Post more pictures, please, especially some of the "regular troops" - doesn't hurt to show the kids what got people like US into the hobby back in the day!
-
That is...wow
But you need more cannons :icon_lol:
-
Small Update.
A really old unit, but one which was repainted some time last year, and the shields replaced with more recent ones. These are mostly Marauder Minis, except the smaller chaps without a shield, and most of the front rank. The fat halberdier and standard had broken weapons when I got them, or it happened later maybe, so one got turned into a standard bearer, the other one looks ok enough. The Citadel Lord of Battle leading them is probably the first model I bought for Empire once I decided to settle on an army. Before that me and my friend just bought random stuff and played without rules, it was getting the rulebook and armies book that made us pick an army. He chose greenskins.

Only one or two models then lol
-
Not been able to get much done lately, what with work, holiday away and concentrating on the conversion contest, so I thought I'd gather a few things I've posted on other threads. Hopefully by the end of the week and over the weekend I'll be able to get a few things done or photographed

-
I love that pistol-wielding champ/captain! His cloak is very well done, are those decals or freehands?
-
One word: Whoa. That's a lot of guys and a lot of time soon to be spent painting them I'm sure.
-
@Von Breden: That was freehand, way back when I had more patience, time to practice and more daylight hours available to do what I wanted. And back then the paints wouldn't destroy your brushes as quickly, or maybe it's the water where I live now. I think that picture on the back of the cloak took me half a day.
@Auberswald: Yep, always got more to paint than I have got time fore, and still I buy more for the army. And next month the new stuff comes out
-
Well, it's awesome, so it was definetely more than worth it!
-
Had this unit of Knights Panther and decided to finish them off. I've never really felt the 'official' colour scheme was right for them, I prefer the black and yellow/ochre of what Panthers actually look like. I did have red trim, and I thought since nearly all my Knights would have had red trimmings, it would be worth testing a model with some blue trimmings and see how it looks. And I think it worked better, so I've re-done the unit.
It's not obvious from these photos but, I've also used the gloss varnish on the black barding, conversly what is obvious in the photos that you don't see so well on the models is the dreaded mold lines
Here are some before and after shots

-
Oh gosh these knights are great. None of the new knight sculpts beats these old marvels :closed-eyes: Well done :eusa_clap:
-
I don't care what GW comes up with, the old guys well painted cant be beat, they just look so rich and detailed, you have done an excellent job. If they ever need a new home give me a call and I will find a place for them in the front rank of my army. steveb
-
Love those knights.
-
Time for some more pics.
Rebased this detachment of Altdorf Spearmen, Built a new base for this Talabheim Mortar, and a couple of characters. The Gold Wizard I've just painted, and that mold line down it's nose I swear is invisible until you point a camera at it.
And Finally, the Elector Count I've just added a wolf head detailing to the barding near the front with greenstuff, I decided to keep the painted on head for the rear barding, and tidied him up a bit as I've rebased him

I am really starting to love this blog. Fantastic work~ :icon_razz:

So.. many.. :icon_eek:
I love the Ye Olde models the most, especially the old knights.

Ok, so now that the conversion contest is over, I too can post up my WIP pics.

On the first one, WTF was up with the wings??????
-
Next up is the man in charge. This is the old Great Imperial Dragon from way back in about 1986. I had never had the bit that was meant to be it's ears, and my first attempt to replace it for this contest ended up being too big, so the final was much smaller. I was probably a bit more ambitious with this than what my skill with Greenstuff is capable of, but I'm really pleased with the result anyway

On the first one, WTF was up with the wings??????
My little pony with wings?
the second version of that pegasus is actually the most brilliant I have seen so far. :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap:
The dragon is also superb, I personally think the thumbs with the claws on the wings are a bit to big.. but overall a excellent done job :eusa_clap:
-
I love them both!... both interessting paintjobs and conversionwork!
On another note. Your reikgaurd on foot sendt me searching for some for myself! I look forward to painting them
-
On the first one, WTF was up with the wings??????
I first painted that about 18 years ago, back then a lot of teh GW studio stuff was done in bright colours, so I took it to the extreme and did a rainbow pattern. When a GW staffer saw it in a shop they said it didn't look very realistic. I said it was a flying horse, a chaos mutant of horses.
I rather liked it when I first did it, but I went off it over the years, so I figured it was time to paint over it. The conversion contest gave me the idea to put the plastic general barding on at the same time, I was going to do the front as well, but it didn't fit very well, so I left it off. The rider didn't fit so well, so I gave him an under cloth for the throne thing and it's a better fit now. I also had to re-pin one of the back legs that had snapped, and cover that up, so doing a dark colour would help. I wish I'd thought about trying to hide the gap around the base of the wings, as it sticks out a bit, but I can live with it

The claws are a little large, they are part of the original metal model, I felt they made the wings look very small, and more so once a throne had been put on, so that's the reason for the expanded wings. My GS skills aren't too good, the underside of the wings came out better than the top, which I had to cover the original bit as well to make it look right. In order to lessen the gaps I coated the top with 2-3 layers of glue to smooth it out a bit.
-
OMG... The nostalgia, the envy.... Sooo many figures, and a broad spectrum of time. I am envious of your knights panther, I miss the old knights!!! Have fun man, the memories must be great!!
-
your GS skills were good enough to make an excellent figure, dont knock yourself too much you did good. Your dragon is an excellent figure. steveb
-
Awesome idea for using those wings as a basis for the dragon wings. Nicely done conversion. :eusa_clap: Keep them coming. IMO, they are the best part of the hobby.
-
@SteveB - Thanks, I was pleased with parts of it, the quilting on the seat looks pretty good, and the cloth under the saddle is the best I've managed with GS. And you can only get better by trying.
@Soren - Those wings were part of the model anyway, I've just made them a better size. I was going to make them even bigger than that, but the weight would have made it hard to stick them on, they haven't been pinned as they bit where they join is quite thin, and a pin strong enough would probably have to go all the way through. Though I may end up doing it at some point in the future
-
Ok, more stuff. I've been working late a lot this last week or so, so not much time in the light to get new painting done, so I've mostly been re-basing stuff. I've got a database with all the stuff in and have a random thingy to pick out the next unit or character to rebase and it's mostly come up with characters.
First off a unit of Altdorf Crossbowmen
(http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m211/Oxycutor/ALDF_XBOW1.jpg)
Nuln Great Cannon
(http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m211/Oxycutor/CANNON1.jpg)
Warrior Priests, including Ar-Ulric
(http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m211/Oxycutor/PRIESTS1.jpg)
Elector Counts. Valmir Von Raukov of Ostland and Alberich Haupt-Anderssen "The Hawk of Wurtbad". The second is a very old knight model, on a converted horse taking the two old types of barded horse together, and it's based on a picture in the 3rd Editon Warhammer Armies book
(http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m211/Oxycutor/ELECTORS1.jpg)
Some Wizards on foot, a plastic one from the game Talisman, that's based on the metal 4th Ed Jade Wizard, and a 4th Ed Metal Amber Wizard
(http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m211/Oxycutor/WIZARDS1.jpg)
3 Mounted Wizards, 4th ed Metal Jade and Liight Wizards, with a 6th Ed Metal Celestial Wizard
(http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m211/Oxycutor/WIZARDS3.jpg)
And finally Balthazar Gelt
(http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m211/Oxycutor/GELT1.jpg)(http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m211/Oxycutor/GELT2.jpg)
I'm probably going to have quite a bit more time this week, so should get a unit of Sisters of Sigmar painted for a free company detachment, and the large Altdorf Regiment, and hopefulyl more. I think I'll try and get something done that's a lot more recent miniatures wise
-
Greetings from Stirland! You have an amazing army! I love old models, I am trying to find my own on e-bay. :icon_lol:
-
Too many cool things to comment here so I'll just hone in on one that really caught my attention. The Hawk fellow. Really like the conversion and paint job. He actually looks like a knight should look. Totally scary.
-
yay! brings back memories. Keep doing, it is a delight. steveb
-
Excellent army standard and while I am not that big fan of older metal models, you sure make them shine.
Well done sir! :::cheers:::
-
:eusa_clap: :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap:
A real Empire Army - metal , puffy sleeves and big feathers !
Looking forward to seeing more .
-
I will join the chorus that sings your praise :
Excellent loking army !
-
Some nice conversion work.
Congratulations.
-
 Best Dragon Ever.... Oh my I love your work.
-
Gelt looks great!
-
Thanks everyone. The positive feedback is certainly encouraging me to get more done.
-
Very inspiring, please keep up the great work and keep posting it here! :::cheers:::
-
An update sooner than I expected, but I did say I would have a bit more time with the brushes this week
This is the biggest unit in my Army at the present time, the mighty Altdorf Regiment. It should probably have the Griffon Standard, but I already have Ludwig Schwarzhelm in my Altdorf Army

Hopefully I'll have more stuff done later in the week
-
Those Halberdiers are gorgeous. They're making my painting fingers twitch.
I am trying desperately to cut back on painting as it is an evil curse which has swallowed up vast quantities of quality time. A truly evil influence.
But they are so nice. And I have unpainted Empire models in a box on the other side of the room. Maybe I should finish the Ogres (that'll only take a couple of weeks) then start the Empire, and while the the paints are out I can begin that repair job of everything I own at the same time, and make the unbuilt Black Coach and Rocket Launcher, and continue converting those celts into WE Wardancers (cutting beards off faces is not easy) and the goblins and those pirates and the regiment of sketelons I wanted to turn into something odd, and if I could find 28mm gorillas there's the reinforcements for my pygmies to consider ...
Are all of you guys in the same place? A million things to do all of no real consequence. So many you don't know where to start and are afraid to because you might never see the daylight world again.
Panic over. Sorry Oxycutor for the invasion of your thread.
Loved the Halberdiers. Hate what they do to my brain.

This picture is explicit proof that the Empire has been successfully researching cloning.
-
@Soulfire: They're not the most detailed plastics, but back then they were cheap, proper cheap. Not much effort to put together, basically just stick into a base, and stick a shield on. Tedious to paint, though it does have a nice discplined and organised look.
-
Sorry, I couldn't help it. They just look so freakishly identical! :icon_eek:

I know the pain, I want to start the next empire army... but the chaos dwarfs.. and the Titan... and warhammer at sea... and spartian games... and Terrain Making...
All the while Oxycutor has painted more in one month then I got done all winter.
Good job man, keep up the good work! (You make me believe in the aldrof colour scheme again!)
-
If it's any consolotion, In the last month I've only really painted a wizard, a pegasus and a dragon, and 4 Knights. Most of it was already painted, but I've been re-doing the bases. Though I have tidied up or added detail here and there.
The next couple of units will be newly painted though
-
Nice work man! I love the altdorf regiment the most, but you characters are ace too! I miss the old halberdiers, mostly due to nostalgic reasons, not because of their uniformity. You are right about thier ease of use though, and god the prices were soo cheap. I think you only got 8 in a box though right? In Canada I think they were 16 dollars for the box, which in my day wasn't so cheap. Being a poor kid didn't help LOL Thanks for the memories! :::cheers:::
-
When they first came out, as 'The Altdorf Regiment' it was a box of 30 for I think £10. Then much later they were £5 for 8. A big price hike, nothing unusual there.

I have spent most of today painting, watching tennis and enjoying myself.
And cursing myself for not being outside in the glorious sun.

Wow Oxycutor
And my wife thinks I have too much stuff - An amazing collection
-
Halberdiers do look awesome. I just got more of those unipose minis. Just have to finish my postgraduate studies and find some decent time to paint them all!

It's been mostly old stuff on here, so time for something new. Really new. Arrived Thursday morning. Spent the last two evenings painting.

Anyway, I've spotted some things to tidy up, and I'll need to gloss varnish the armour.

Ooo that is one crisp looking tank.

niiiiiiceee... she looks sweet in black man!!! Hope mine will live up to yours!! :eusa_clap:
-
well done indeed!
what's that in the engineer's left hand, a GIANT cigar?
-
It's meant to be a telescope. :icon_biggrin:

Been able to get some more painting and rebasing done this weekend.
First up a couple of Free Companies, One a Sisters of Sigmar company, from the Mordheim range, the second done to represent the Altdorf watchmen, inspiration for which comes from the Yeomen of the Guard (The Beefeaters) of the Tower of London. The idea was good, but my freehand on them doesn't live up to the idea.

Next up Halfling Hot-Pot Catapult, and a Bright Wizard

And finally for this update, Kurt Helborg

With Aldebrand as my favourite in this batch...
-
Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude,
Those sisters are incredible. Have you made any tutorials on painting? If not, get busy.
-
Quick addition. A rebased unit of handgunners. The photo is showing up quite a lot of things I don't like, so I think I'm going to be tidying them up soon.
And the Engineers/Gunnery Crew I've rebased to contribute to the Engineers thread

Nice pictures and quit a few, let say the least.
It is fun seeing those old models again, I know, GW has to generate trade, but some of the old models are looking much characteristic to me.
I like your paint work.

The rocks help on the hot-pot base...but I'd like to see more stuff on there to break up the space. Cauldron of soup, table with ingredients, spoons, a barricade with a few arrows sticking out of it, something.
-
Fantastic work. Steam tank/Reiksmarshall looking particularly good.
-
I take my hat off to you! That is a very nice looking army. How did you manage to collect so much stuff???!!!
-
Did you steal the actuall eavy metal helborg or something? :icon_lol:
He looks great :::cheers:::
By the way could you tell how to get so nice pictures?I have a good camera but they always end up wrong in one way or another
-
Your mini's look amazing. I love your Hellborg.
-
Thanks for the comments. As a reward, another update.
A unit of Knights of the White Wolf. I prefer this scheme to the official scheme
(http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m211/Oxycutor/WWOLF2.jpg)
@Boldrick - No he's not as good as that. If you look at the offical one, I haven't done the little details on the reins and cloth barding. Also I've not done anything special photo wise. I use Auto on the camera. Try and do it in a well lit room, take the photo from about 10-11 inches away, then open in it paint, use stretch to reduce it to 40-50% size to see how it looks, then cut out the part of the picture with just the miniatures, and save that as a separate file and upload it. Simples.
@Irresistible Force - It's taken me 20 years, and I dread to think how much money.
@The Real Rick Salamone - I think you're right, it does look a bit barren on that Hot Pot base, but I don't think I have much like cauldrons or a table, and my scultping isn't really up to it yet, but I may have a go once I've got a bit better.
-
I like this scheme better as well.
-
thank you for revitalizing my painting mojo.
-
I like the classic figs for them too!!
-
Work commitments and a last minute holiday used up a lot of time I had set aside for painting this month, so have only just managed to get a handful done lately.
This is a newly done unit of the current crossbowmen, they're odd looking these new minatures. Anyway a departure from the prevalent Altdorf stuff, this time it's Middenland.
Also a Celestial Wizard. Which is I believe one of the plastic ones done for Talisman. He's only a lower ranked wizard, so I've not gone for patterning or detail, though I think I might do some in the future
(http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m211/Oxycutor/MIDLND_XBOWS.jpg)
-
ooh, that's a big army.. Your painting is positively excellent sir! I love your use of greys and blues especially, gave me inspiration to revamp my knights for the umpteenth time.
The reiksguard from the beginning of the thread are just too sweet but the newer figures you posted above are really nicely done as well. Looks like plastic greatsword parts (crossbow marksman head)?
Please do continue!
-
No that's head from the crossbowmen sprue, but I've greenstuffed the beard as when I stuck his head on at that angle there was a big gap and while I tried just putting a neck on it didn't turn out too good, so I covered it with a beard to hide it
-
Well, it's been a while since I've had a chance to really get anything completed. Almost a year looking at the date.
Anyway, I haven't been doing nothing. I've nearly worked my way through this pile of plastic from my first post, although a new pile is starting to build up
(http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m211/Oxycutor/ARMY4.jpg)
I've also tried to move it all onto one table, though most of the unpainted stuff hasn't been able to fit, and I've lost the photo of the overflow
(http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m211/Oxycutor/ARMY3.jpg)
I've been doing a lot of undercoating and basing, and going over to the dark side and spending some time on my 40k stuff.
However I have finally managed to complete a unit of pistoliers
(http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m211/Oxycutor/PISTOLIERS2.jpg)
-
Love the pistoliers and they look so much better than the current plastics.
-
Holy Sh**t that's a lot of empire models, really love all those classic models to. Keep up the good work.
-
Nice Army man ...again great to see the old models ....wow never thought about using that old Hero as a pistolier .... :::cheers:::
-
Amazing. The steam tank in particular is very nice! Please sir, would you battle Steveb? Please!
-
Good work.
Really love hat wolf banner.
-
The pistolier will hurt his horse with that sword like that.
A yeah, the whole collection :-o
-
Can you come over and paint my table full of Empire minis too? It only took you one post to complete it ::heretic:: ....... so help an Empire brother out. :biggriin:
Anyway, very nice minis as always. I love it that your horses are so different in color.
So, let me know when you will be here. I'll order pizza. :::cheers:::
-
I wish I could paint that quickly, but the big change was moving already painted stuff onto the same table, and 3/4 the table is unpainted, or just undercoated, and there is even more unpainted stuff on another shelf
-
A fantastic army I must say (don't know how I missed it last spring-summer).
Very well painted.
I like the black and white posteriors horse scheme very much.
Is it Bertha B I spot among the sisters of Sigmar? I'm jealous.
:::cheers:::
fbjorn
-
I found a website that I use for reference on horse colours, and I liked the Piebald markings, but I wouldn't use it too often, as it takes a while longer to paint. I might still do something about that sword hand on him though. I think at the time I first did the conversion I don't think I would have done a good enough greenstuff job on it.
And, yes it is Bertha B in the Sisters of Sigmar unit
-
I'm just getting ready to paint up some Knights and Pistoliers, after my "pleasant surprise", and I was going to look for some horse references. Would it be possible for you to post a link to your reference site?
-
Sure.

Time for a minor update

-
I've allways admired this model....and you have done it justice with jour paint work here. NIce.
-
WOWWWWWW excellent painting and that is A LOT of models
Great work and I can not wait to see more
-Nate
-
Everything here looks great, really inspiring!
-
Long time since the last update, but work has got in the way.
Something I've been meaning to do for a long time is to provide a better backdrop for photos than the kitcken worktop, so I cut up my Fortified Manor box, and made a nice tray for photos
(http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m211/Oxycutor/BG02.jpg)
And to see how well it works, pretty much the only thing I've got painted in the last few months
Ludwig Schwartzhelm
(http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m211/Oxycutor/LUDWIG02.jpg)
With any luck I'll be able to get a bit of painting done in the next few weeks, although I don't really have a plan for what i want to get done, I must just randomise a unit and see
-
Excellent! :eusa_clap:
-
I am so gonna steal the idea for photo backgrounds - genius :eusa_clap:
-
i think i need to paint Ludwig, yours is inspiring!
-
Excellent idea, and great painting !
I've been looking for some suitable backgrounds for pics myself, but somehow everything I find is way out of scale...
Links welcome.. (Pm them, so as not to hijack this thread any further.)
-
Very nice painting, and a good idea for a background. Well done! :biggriin:
-
I found this tutorial to create a "photo-box" (in French but the pictures will talk by themselves).

I hope you like it.
And your Ludwig is inspiring!!!!

So.. Time for a bit more threadomancy, on my own plog
I got sent a Sigmar in the exchange last year from Commander Bernhardt (The one on the left), and decided to use him as a young Sigmar, and then I got inspired to build a First Emperor version of him
(http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m211/Oxycutor/Sigmar2.jpg)
-
Nice conversion, my only remark is that having two greatweapons is a bit redundant. Great paintjob as well.
-
awesome!! :::cheers:::
-
@DariusZero It's not meant to be two great weapons, though both are a little large, but that is the case with GW. Especially in the General kit, I wonder if they were made so big because th 6th ed weapons were so small (Or too realistic -and not enough skullz and comets).
In the time of Legends novels he is described as using hammer and sword, or more specifically, Ghal-Maraz and a Runefang, which is why I used the hammer from the Valten model, and the spare runefang from the updated Karl-Franz model.
-
ah, ok that explains it then.
-
Most excellent conversions, I might have to steal the idea if I ever get the bitz to do so.
-
These are friggin' awesome! Especially Emperor Sigmar. :::cheers::: :eusa_clap: :::cheers::: :eusa_clap: :::cheers:::
-
"I am the ruler of the Empire! I have bought myself better pants!"
Awesome models - both of them. Really work well together. Now you just need rules for a Primarch Sigmar.
-
Nice emperor :biggriin:
I'm honoured to have inspired such a great model
I see you gave young Sigmar paints. Which is allright! I doubted very long on how to paint that but decided to paint it flesh because in most of the artwork he appears without pants. I'm not a big fan of the conan look either, it looks better with pants
-
Emperor Sigmar should find his way in our new army book...fantastic miniature.
-
A rare occasion - new pics of newly painted stuff from me

like the colour scheme , and i love the shine to the metallics , especially the horses head guard

Looks great! I really like the feathers!

*speechless* :icon_eek: :icon_eek: :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap:
-
A wonderful thread, full of :-o
Just to mention something among many impressive things, I loved the steam tank and admired the writing on it. Great work!
-
I would like to note that a third sigmar may be an intertresting. Near the end of his life the art shoes him looking more like the bearded Valten.
Just a side thought I had.
-
I'm a Warhammer old timer that has just joined the site, got to say you have an awesome collection.
Also love the Sigmar's and the Leitdorf, great paint jobs.

Been a while since I posted anything.
