People have asked for there to be a thread in the rumour roundup summarising the current state of the Chaos Dwarfs rumours. So here they are:
- Forge World may do a Chaos Dwarf army
Thank you.
from Warseer
hmmmmmm if Forgeworld brings out the rules it would be official wouldn´t it?
-
Not really I believe.
Look at all the 40K gizmos they have with rules in their Imperial Armour volumes, those still require opponent's consent AFAIK.
-
Nothing Forgeworld produces is official GW stuff, certainly not their rules which are not allowed in tournaments.
As for Chaos Dwarves...they are dead, even Dogs of War have a more up to date official army list.
-
With the new enlarged common magic item list dogs of war have even more appeal don´t you think?
-
I do actually, in fact under 8th they could be a pretty damn useful army.
Hordes of pikes, good artillery, lots of shooting and enough magic items to actually equip some heros...or no more character slots so plenty of mundanely equipped captains to add some steel to the troops.
-
also the mix of infantry, ogres and knights could be interesting....the cannons are improved too the small ones do d6 wounds only drawback maximum range of 48 inch :engel:
duellists improved due to 12 inch range and marching and shooting so 20 " threat range for them.

That FW Chaos Dwarf rumour is pretty old now and nothing has materialised yet unfortunately but that's Forgewold for you, slow and unreliable. The story at the time was that ebob was doing some CD sculpts for Forgeworld along the lines of the Hellcannon crew. I'd prefer "big hats" myself but Bob's a hell of a good sculptor so if they ever do see the light of day, they should be very tasty indeed.
