Hello!
I would like some critique on this IG list. My opponent is Tyranids and this list won't be used for tournaments, just for casual playing. I'm not sure on how to eguip my HQ command. I quess plasmas or meltas would be better, but I don't want to spam meltas or plasmas and have to buy a lot of cadian command boxes. Also, I don't think the games would be very enjoying, for me or my opponent, if I spam meltas, plasmas or lots of S8 templates. I'm also not sure on the equipment for my sentinels, perhaps missile launchers are better?
It should be noted that I plan to play cities of death with the army in the future, hence the special weapons squads with flamers.
HQ:
Company Command squad 135
Company Commander: Power Fist
Carapace armour
2 Bodyguards
4 grenade launchers
Troops:
Infantry Platoon
Platoon Command 120
Heavy Flamer, 3 Flamers
Chimera
Infantry squad 60
Heavy Bolter

Maybe put flamers in each of the infantry squads instead of having one of the special weapon squads? Also, heavy bolters are a bit rubbish compared to autocannons for the same price.
I imagine if you are playing tyranids you will spend the first couple of turns shooting at them as they advance, and then fold completely when they get into combat with you. I'm not sure how much fun that would be for either of you!

I don't like putting carapace on the veterans, or the command squad really. But more justifiable for the command squad.
I would definitely give some plasma to the CCS though. 2 units of plasma is not that much spam really.
And you maybe want autocannons instead of the HB in the squads.

Yeah I'm not sure about the carapace either, quess I need to play and decide after some combat experience.
Ok, I think 3 plasma should be added instead of launchers. Is it worth to buy a medic, it seems good sometimes but expensive. Perhaps a banner is more useful?
Perhaps autocannons are better, but I have already built and painted 3 heavy weapon teams with bolters so I stick with them because of that.

Take out the carapace from your command squad and put a medi pack in, feel no pain+flak armour is a lot better than just carapace armour.
-
I wouldn't bother with medic OR carapace armour. Both too expensive for the cheap command squad. You could possibly argue for one or the other if you have 3/4 plasma weapons, 2 bodyguards and 3 advisors. Otherwise you are paying a huge premuim for a small unit.
-
But do you use Straken in you command squad?
-
No, but it appears Heinrich von Kampfmann doesn't either.

Should have responded to you comments earlier, but thanks for some input!

I agree, but carapace is the cheepest so I choosed to let them have it. Gave the spare veteran a vox-caster since I'm thinking of ibncluding a unit of 20 guardsmen with commmisar later. Feels like FNP is soo easy to lose, since you can't take these saves against instant death attacks and against attacks that don't allow armour saves.
Also, no Straken in my list. Haven't even tried him out yet, might do that :)

He gives an opponent a nasty surprise...
