WHFB The Electors' Forum / Re: Why is everything Talabecland?
« on: April 30, 2007, 08:55:49 AM »
Talabheim is their capital, the province is Talabecland.

Talabhiem was the capital of Talabecland, but, as it grew in size, it became large enough to become a City Sate, much like Altdorf or Middenhiem. Talabecland has a quartered red and yellow scheme, and Talabhiem a red and white one. The two are no longer linked. Sorry to be a pain but hey, I didn't invent it.

General H,

I stumbled upon this site and thought of you. they have both modern US Marines in the second option down, and Tanks and Jeeps in the bootom option

Plus, there 28mm!

I rather like the SWAT ones for 40k, especially a Guard Army one made to look Like the SAS! :biggriin:

Cheers

Ill second McKnight's idea. we need to Decide on a GM though, i don't mind who it is, but i don't wanna do it (I'm now Helmut Feuerbach of Talabecland, by the way!)

I no Renard is Volkmar, but couldn't he act as a game master(if he wants to), as he seems to know what hes talking about. especially as he can win  :biggriin:

that would blow the 'secret' part out of the water though. would one of the mods be interested in being a keeper of the secrets?

I was assuming we start with zero votes, certain members are unable to attain votes such as myself and Hisme stoutheart and the other various religious figure heads. our support needs to be bought. Each person has 1 support vote and its the job of each individual player to gain the support votes from the other players, after a certain time frame the player with the most support gains the supremacy...

Woah, why not the other Electors? Hisme Stoutheart would be a cool Emperor, just might take him a while to climb on Deathclaw  :biggriin:

I like the idea, but lets not turn it to much into online risk, as Rufas said. I think that each Elector should have a support vote, as well as the Army's Generals and other notable leaders of the Empire (the rest of the Forum)

That way, you not only have to empress the other player, but everybody on the forum, (well those that want to vote anyway)

to get there votes, you must undermine the opponent, while proving how you will make the Empire a better place (note-improving the halberdier or engineer doest count!!  :biggriin:)

I'm liking the idea though,

Why not just discuss it right here? If you have a GM who knows what he's doing and you lay down a few ground rules before you go, I really don't see the need for a separate board - let alone an off-site forum. Start small :icon_biggrin: You can always use the PM system, or email, for communications that you don't want to be public.

I also wouldn't recommend pushing for a sticky, because in my experience stickies actually draw less attention than regular threads. A normal thread that is replied to on a daily basis will get plenty of views.

If and when this RPG grows to such proportions that a single thread can't handle it, we can talk about further options :-)

Thanks for the advice General, i assumed that our ramblings over this would bore people and take up  room. a sticky would be good.  :icon_biggrin:

so, how is this system gonna work? how do we win/lose votes? how do we decide on an eventual winner? Ideas anyone?(initially aimed at participants, or those willing to participate)

So how is this going to be like?
Any rules etc?
We should start out by sorting out some goals or some kind of mission. Something for all of us to do  :-P

While you work on that, I will read some stuff about Talabecland, since Talabheim doesnt have an elector count  :x

EDIT: Just read about Talabecland, and I have changed my mind :-P Cult of Ulric being superior and no advanced weapons... so I would like Averland instead

ahem, i play Talabhiem tis not that bad!

to be honest, I have no idea, I was considering setting up a free proboard forum for the players then we can discuss the rules etc etc before we start.

You do realize you have to invent the new Averland elector, as the last one is dead right?

« on: February 09, 2007, 10:13:43 AM »
Hello all!

I'm interested in your opinions on Greatsword colours. I play a Talabhiem Army, with regiments from Talabecland.

i am to receive a 20 man Greatsword unit next week. do i paint them

A) in the black and red of Carroberg?
 or
B) the red and white of Talabhiem?

I would be interested in your ideas.

Thanks

What Province do you play? or which character do you like the best? You can pick one from the list, or make up your own fluff.

Don't forget the Elder of the Moot!!

I haven't - "Hisme Stoutheart"

@Captain Tineal, can really begin. As there is no real Elector of Altdorf, your character would be the Reikland Elector, since Karl Franz would have to have snuffed it in order to have an election, so your free to invent an Elector's Name, and say he is the successor of Karl, Elector for Reikland.

Once i worked out how it worked it is very good but there is no option for the greatswords to take a magic banner

As in one from the General, or just on of there own? Because in 7th Ed they can only have a banner if theres a General, which is an oversight in my part. i forgot the Generals Special Rule. well spotted again  :icon_redface: :icon_redface:

Sounds interesting. Would like to be the elector of Talabheim then..

Damn, Beat me to it!
Dain, got any preferances?

You Become the Elector, in McKnights case the Talabecland Elector ,or in the case of Riekland and Averland, you'll have to make up names - those are the only real provinces you can have people competing for an Electoral position by the way.

If there are enough responces, I'll update the top post with the players names.

But we do have an Emperor already on this site.... No need for an election.

Noooo, as In Karl Franz Emperor, not Grutch Emperor!

Sort of like on-line Risk?  Of course to make it interesting (and allow for more players) you could have pretenders to the thrones in some of the Provinces.

Setting it in the period f the Three Empires may also mix things up a bit.

Nice, but we know more about the current Electors (though its an idea).
How about the official Electors, then anyone Else that wants to have a go (Boghafen Candidate?)

Then they can forge partnerships, agree deals, undermine opponents with speeches (beginning to sound like normal politics!)

what else would make the campaign more interesting? (within reason, we can't have wars here, unless the members live near each other and can play a real game!)

Thanks

Is anyone interested in taking part in an online RPG, based around the council of Electors??

I had the idea of getting diffrent forum members to play the diffrent Electors, then basically have a discussion, each competing for the title of the next Emperor, maybe with a Forum vote? (not realistic i no but still)?

Not to sure how I would get this to work yet, but its an idea hopefully.

any ideas/suggestions?

One thing I did note was when picking rare units it didnt fill in the name of the Flaggelents when I chose them and it had the point cost for my Helstorm Rocket Launcher at 10 points. I fixed the probelm by renumbering those units in the support tab properly. I also added two other Hero slots since I usually play games that are 3000 points or so.

Well spotted  :icon_redface:, i noticed that 5 mins after i posted it, kudos to you for correcting it. it sent that good, but it is easy to add too.

Thanks again for all the comments

I can't seem to select anything.  like I click on a dropdown menu to select a troop type, and I just get blue highlight.  Am I doing something wrong?  should I just be simply typing it in?  That didn't work either.

Strange, it works on the PCs Ive tested it with. it could be you version of Excel, i just click on the writing, the menu dissapears and the troop type is inserted into the box.
if your still having problems, screenshot what your doing and email me with it. (emails the letter under the picture)

« on: January 30, 2007, 04:51:16 PM »
I have the parts fr a War Alter sitting in front of me, and only the thought of a contest (and possibly laziness ) is keeping my from building mine.

Could we not have separate contests for the parts? AL, WA and Both? my AL is already done, Alas! I will enter the novice category if you let me know about it.

On another thought, if the War alter idea was off, how about the best combination of 6th and 7th plastics?

Only Problem i have with is is that its not possable to give spears or halbreds shields.

Other then that i Like.

aha, you can, it just looks funny.

pick shields for the unit, the same way you choose a musician, Sarge, etc etc

then selectthe 'up arrow' for the amount of troopers you have in the unit. IE select 20 shields for a 20 spearman unit. I was temped to add a spearman with shields option, but it would take up more room.

I confess, the  majority of the coding is not mine, i believe it was converted from 40K to WFB, and then I added Empire bits and updated to 7th Ed.

really nice but i think i might be using it wrongly because in the character sheet they're is an arrow(like to open a menu or to select something in it) and i cant use it :?
fell free to say I'm crazy but i cant do it  :icon_cry:

but for the rest bravo :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap:

I don't think your using it that wrongly, but I also don't understand the problem? which menu can you not use, and how can you not use it.

thanks for the feedback and testing guys.

I have updated his spreadsheet to 7th Edition, hope it may be of use until AB returns!!
