I've been trying out a Steam Tank recently, but I'm still not a big fan of its performance. If they were I4, they would be perfect as far as I'm concerned. No more having the core troops of most armies attacking before them.

I just don't want three types of Knights (one in each category), we aren't Bretonnians after all.

The grind attack are impact hits and therefore worked out before the enemy gets to attack.  (Official FAQ)

Blue and orange is not so far from blue and yellow. I would make them from nordland. Maybe a naval force or barony from there.

It turns out he wasn't so mad after all. There was a chaos sorceress making him hallucinate and have very strange dreams. Its all in the books Sword of Justice and Sword of Vengeance.  But he is, in fact, dead now.

My friend runs a unit of 40 core knights. They get flanked easily and usually can only attack with 3 knights back that turn.

« on: February 04, 2012, 08:12:15 AM »
You could say the fluff came before the game. All these games are basically derived from the Lord of the Rings books.  The books, which are just a bunch of fluff made into a story,  inspired people to recreate that fantasy world and play battles.

ALs, in the fluff, ARE generals. They often lead armies and knightly orders. Remember there are only three of them and each are veterans more so than some younger GotE would likely be.  I don't have any problem justifying the AL's leadership.

I know I will always want a hard copy, and a nice one at that.  If they just printed out a book I wouldn't pay more than 5 bucks for it and more likely just take somebody else's and make photo copies myself.     But thats also why I only have empire books and really don't know the rules of other armies very well.  But I have all of you for that so who cares.

Finlay, thats just what I thought of. Or those guys on WW 2 aircraft carriers. It just looks...  :eusa_wall: to me.   I do like the big Empire crosses around the top though. More of that, less skullarrhea please.

As always, have cannons.  Some Captisuses could fly out and take out his war machines as well.

Well, If its in today's empire then the ruins of mordheim no longer exist. Its just a dusty field now.
Bugmans is also long gone.  SOrry.

But...
the Cathedral of sigmar  in Altdorf is a a must
The huge bridge in Nuln is very famous as well as its library.
The colleges of magic as you already mentioned.
The grand Imperial fleet in Nordland would be amazing to see.
You would have to taste some halfling cooking and some estelian wine.
I would want to see Helmgart and Rieksguard castles myself.
The Fusalage (or how ever you spell it). You know, the big rock that Middenhiem is built on.
The crater and gardens of Talebecland.
The temple of Ulrick with its eternal flame in Middenland is a must as is the stone in Altdorf where Sigmar was made Emperor by the priest of Ulrick....

OK I have officially read way too many black library books...

First, these are probably easy questions and  I did use search for this but the closest thing I found was from 2007.

All of these questions assume there are no wizards in the game on either side.

SO question number one.

If using a priest's prayer (bound spell) and there are no wizards in either army, does the prayer really go off automatically? The brb says to use power die but without wizards we never rolled for power/dispell. I asked this at a GW and the manager said prayers go off automatically because they are an innate ability in that case and can not be dispelled.  True?

question number two.

WOuld the same be true for bound spells ?

Question number three

The BRB talks about an army being able to dispell if there are no wizards so even if no armies have wizards do we still roll for winds of magic?
I'm thinking we do.

Thanks

If I saw that fire wizard's horse coming near me I'd shoot first and ask questions later. Very scary. Definitely been touched by chaos though.

Great looking army!

To the Grand Dueshe , oh excuse me, I mean Duchy  of Talabecland. (but really, is there such a difference?)

We concede in the distant past one of the many Emperors to hail from Stirland may have been led astray by his aides and poor counsel (most likely by the ever-jealous Talabecers).  Having never had an Emperor hail from your provence we understand that you may be un-informed of how easily such things can happen. However we would like to remind our smaller neighbor that Stirland itself survived those dreadful years of invasion thus shielding the  dark Talebec forests from Grom's worst.

We will, however, forgive your forgetfulness as I am sure you are all deeply upset over the disappearance of your current elector count. I do so hope the rumors that he was not so much lost in the previous chaos invasion as overcome by the corrupting influence of the dread master of lust prove false. And we do so hope that the reports of him willfully falling into the tentacles of a lascivious, and quite terrible Chaos daemon in pink armor are exaggerated.

In the name of unity we would like to once again extend our help in finding your Prince and purifying him in the name of Sigmar should that prove necessary.  - The Most Grand County of Stirland

Can't we all just go play at Steveb's house. Pretty please.

I've been trying to get that Giant for years. On the cheap of course.

I like the Forge World bone crusher giant as well.

And their dragons are pretty cool too...

Is the release planned on the 7th of July or the 7th of January (the date mentioned in the film)?

Well, in the US anyway the month comes first when writing the date so the date in the vid would be July 1st 2012. The link is to the US GW website.

The vid could just be a teaser for the vamp release. But have they done teasers like that for other releases? Also, aren't there rumors of other releases before July? That seems a long ways away

If the Vamps are released this week as Talben21 says than we can be sure this teaser is about something else. I just hope that whatever it is, is fun and done well.

I don't know if this has been posted yet but...

GW posted  a new teaser video about something happening or starting on 7/1/12. I think it will be another world wide campaign like the STorm of CHaos was. Thats just a guess though. Anyway, Morr will play a HUGE part in it. I had better get my Stirlanders ready.

The Electors' Forum / Re: Seeking Stirland Fluff
« on: December 27, 2011, 08:18:12 AM »
SOme notes of interest all from official fluff...

Although the provence of Stirland is poor overall the elector is rich and would have plenty of great swords.
The Stir river patrol is fairly rich as well. Take a look at them in the Heraldry of the Empire book.
Several Emperors have come from Stirland.
The Knights of Morr are based in Sigfriedhof, a town in Stirland near Sylvania.
The provence also borders the Moot so Halflings are a good choice too.

The only thing I think wouldn't really fit in a Stirland army fluff wise would be rare and expensive toys from the engineer school. SO rockets, stank, and hellblaster might look out of character. Bit thats just my opinion.
I think stirland has some of the most colorful and best described fluff in the Empire.
