I think outriders get a vanguard, which sets them up really well to blow things up and control an area with their shooting.

A couple of the Wizard wagons, two units of demis and some knights can be competative.

Empire Knights are really tough.  Not too many units can get past the 1 up armor save.  A couple big units of the Reiks and the other strong ones with all your chars in there.  The rest as 5 man units for Flank protection, diverting, wm hunting etc.

All knights list can work and work well.

I think Ogres being Monstrous Infantry get stomps as well. Not sure if they can stomp can I know they can stomp I and WB, plus I think Ogres get impact hits too.

Chum dont be down on yourself, you are the most prolific painter I have seen on all the websites, and your work is second to none.

The Electors' Forum / Re: Overrun!
« on: April 24, 2012, 02:54:11 AM »
An overrun is considered a special pursuit move.  When making an overrun the victorious unit moves 2d6 directly fowards, as if they were pursing a fleeing enemy in their front"  All other rules governing pursuit moves such as intervening units and terrain apply to overrun.

So then look at Pursuit into a new enemy

Carry out the charge as you would in the Move phase, follow norm restrictions. dont ned to roll for range must wheel to close door to max. contact like a normal charge.

Charge unit is surprised must hold.

Here is where it gets good

IF this enemy unit was already engadged in close combat that had not been resolved for this turn then the pursuing unit will get to FIGHT another round of close combat.

« on: April 16, 2012, 10:10:16 PM »
I fought one last night, over three rounds I did 6 wounds to it.

One was caused by a str 10 miscast.

Three were caused when the tank rolled tripple ones for armor save on three wounds.

The others were a wound per round.

I had the beast banner on Gors ST4 Bsb was STR5 and for one round I had Wildform on them as well.  I didnt hurt me, but it still is a mighty good tarpit.

Held me up long enough for the Chiken Knights to get in my flank.  Funny thing is they ran but the tank of course didnt.

The Electors' Forum / Re: My disappointments about new book
« on: April 08, 2012, 09:36:20 PM »
Personally, I find it more than suspicious that many people we have never heard from before, some of whom even openly confess that they do  not even belong to the Empire, suddenly rise up to tell us how great and wonderful the new Army Book is. There is a Flemish saying: "Als de vos de passie preekt, boer pas op uw ganzen" (When the fox is preaching, farmer, take care of your geese!." )
I put it to you, the faithful followers of Sigmar, that this indicates the infiltration of the Holy Sigmarite Empire by its enemies, and warrants a full and thorough, and preferably most painful investigation by the Inquistion.  ::heretic::

Haha.
No.. Just a not very humble warhammer player who's curious for Empire.

However, I must say that the attitude on this forum needs more can-do and try hard rather than acting like a flaggalent :p a 12-point flaggalent ::heretic::

Flaggies are unbreakable (or used to be) you cant be anymore can-do than that.

« on: March 23, 2012, 01:25:25 AM »
I would like to see you run this campaign again with a different army I have a feeling your results would be the same.

You seem to find a way to win.

That means you (the general)  are the game breaker, not the particular tool (the army) you use.

This thread details a nice hold up refused flank style.  It is close to Joelatron's and Marcus_Octavius' plans

Grats on the Win!

Im like everyone else I just want to see you describe the battles more.  However if that cuts into your time smashing foes of Sigmar dont worry about it.

I really think its awesome that SPEARMEN dominated something!

The Electors' Forum / What magic items will be removed in our new book?
« on: February 26, 2012, 02:26:05 AM »
I have to say I wish they wouldnt take any items from any army set, I think it is a lot of fun to come up with different combinations.

Here are some that I think will go away/get changed:

Imperial Banner
Steel Standard
Rod of Power
Van Horstmann's Speculum
Armour of Meteoric Iron

Just to name a few.  I think we have 46 magic items at the moment.

Tomb Kings went from 35 down to 8.

Why on earth give people fewer ways to have fun?

I still love that purple.  The 40 knights really take the cake, and Im a big fan of Oscar the Grouch as well.

Having read Smiths thread as well as the one by the High Elf player (Swordmaster?) I think the style is great.  Here is a guy who managed to find  a way to play that was fun, challenging and different.  He did so without  parroting what every other player does and  he did it without overpowered Lores.  His List has pistoleers and knights in it, a couple mortars  one standard big block of Halbs that is basically a decoy and a bunch of small units.  Captns on Pegs which more often or not seem to be there for comic relief.  What makes the units good is the bating he uses so he can line up the flank charges and rear charges.

When I read his reports I dont see any of the smaller units refered to as detachments and I dont really see the detachment style come into play.  I would like to see how the detachment system would work out with MSU seems like it would be really neat.

The Electors' Forum / Re: Depreciated value of the Empire
« on: February 21, 2012, 01:46:12 AM »
27 pages worth of Empire up atm normally its 35-37.  Of those 27 pages quite a bit of Tau and other armies are sneaking in.  I would say prices are average some good deals in there and some silly ones as per the norm.

I also see some figures that have been on there over a year but most of those deals are silly as well.

There was a recent tourney won by a TK guy with Kalida and 80 archers, thats a lot of bones on the field of play.

The Electors' Forum / Re: Semi-Competitive army without wizard?
« on: January 26, 2012, 12:02:56 AM »
I read every battle report I get my hands on and you know what I see all the time is the level 4 wizard casting some IF spell and killing himself or a number of his own men as well as himself.

More often than not I hear about "the winds of magic were fickle" and "I didnt have enough dice to cast my spells" or "all my spells were dispelled"

Magic is neat but I dont think  you can really rely on it, and if you do you better watchout.

Thats what makes the War Altar and WP so nice.   You get the Lore of Light and Prayers of Sigmar as bound spells so you wont be sucking your AL or WP into the void at a cost of 300 points anytime soon.

Take those points and buy another 4 mortars or two mortars and another detachment or two Peggy Captns or whatever you wish.
