120 – Battlemage
280 – 10x Knights
130 – 5x Outriders

The Brush and Palette / Battlefield Shyish: painting challenge 2018-2019
« on: November 05, 2018, 08:51:48 AM »

Hey!

Last year we managed and accomplished a painting challenge of Age of Sigmar. We painted six 1000 points’ armies (you can check here the results). This year, with the arrive of the new edition of AoS we decided to focus a new “fast painting” challenge on the Realm of Shysh and paint five armies of Order and Death (3750 per faction). We want to keep coherence between all armies, so, we decided to paint the bases with the same recipe. In addition, we’re going to build our own table mat and scenery customized for Shyish: http://modelbrush.com/shyish_campo_de_batalla/

October has been the first phase of this challenge and we share with you photos of the units painted. We hope you like them!

Hi

From more than 8 months ago we're working in redesigning and formatting warscrolls for all factions of Age of Sigmar in A6 format and high resolution (300ppp). At this moment, we have completed ALL armies, even Dark Elfs from Legends (more than 550 warscrolls!!).

Furthermore the faction's warscrolls, we have make the Scenery and Malign Sorcery rules in a pocket format ;). Sadly we have make them only in spanish (if anyone wanna help us to make the english version, please, contact with us at hola@modelbrush.com).

Luckly, we have make the Malign Sorcery warscrolls in english version as well (there are only 14 end-less spells), you can download from here:

Empire Crafts and Skills / [WIP] Von Zeppel's Steam Tank conversion
« on: June 07, 2018, 09:24:13 AM »
Hi folks!

I'm working in my own version of Von Zeppel's Steam Tank. As you know, this model was retired years ago by GW and the original version used the old metal Steam Tank. Some weeks ago I suggested here updated rules for use it in Age of Sigmar (check here).

Last week I got a new plastic Steam tank and I have built it excepting the top and turret. I'm building the platform and railings using 1-3mm PVC and balsa wood sheets of 2mm thick. The first issue which I have found when I begun to build it was the measures!! I don't know any owner of the original model, so I had to check and re-check with the steam tank and miniatures to work out the best size. If is there any interested, I have prepared a basic blueprints with the measures which I have used (download from here). Sumarizing, the platform will have 67mmx45mm. The railings will be of 20mm of height.

I will post the progress of the conversion!! I hope you like it ;)

The beginning (first try to adjust the size):

Preparing the platform base with balsa wood. Notice the wood marks (you can use a rounded thin tool):

And then, you can cut it in 2mm bars:

Support of the platform to adjust it to Steam Tank (made with 2mm PVC forex):

The platform ready and perfectly adjusted to the Steam Tank.

First long railing built. It is not completed, I need to add spear blades on the top. You can see the size with miniatures (like original model).

And this is all for today!! tonight I will work again in this ;)

Cheers

Hi,

I'm planning to build my own Empire Freeguild War Wagon and the version Von Zeppel's Steam Tank. For the first project, I'm going to make a copy in resin of the original model (a friend has it in his box!!) and customize it with a little tower on the back ("stern castle") where I can place a Gunmaster or Battlemage.

For the second project (Von Zeppel's Steam Tank) I will make the top platform for Steam Tank to put them the young engineers.

Regards the rules, I found on other forum custom rules for Freeguild War Wagon, but I decided to remake them to add special rules for the "tower". However, I have not found anything about Von Zeppel's model. I show you my proposals! Sorry for my bad english, I have translated them but if anyone can help me to proofread them, you will become in my hero  :eusa_clap: On the other hand, please, feel free to comment your opinions about the rules to improve them!

DESCRIPTION
A Von Zeppel's Steam tank is a single model. This land ship has a combat platform on the fuselage, from the crew arrives to the battle wielding a multitude of experimental weapons, such as Repeater Handgun, Hochland Long Rifle, Blunderbuss and close combat weapons such as Mancatcher, Ball and chain or Swords. The Steam Tank itself uses its Crushing Wheels and Ironclad Bluk to grind its foes into paste.

ABILITIES
Citadel. When a Steam Tank cross enemy lines, the engineers on the top platform take advantage of its height to hit accurate blows. You can repeat any To Hit roll of Melee Weapons, except Crushing Wheels and Ironic Bulk, during the combat phase.

Steady Aim: You can add 1 to the hit rolls in your shooting phase so long as the Steam Tanks did not move in the preceding movement phase and there are no enemy models within 3" of its unit

Killing blow if you roll a 6 when rolling To Wound with the Mancatcher it inflicts a mortal wound rather than a normal wound.

Steel Behemoth: After a Steam Tank completes a charge move, you may select an enemy unit within 1"; that unit suffers 1D3 mortal wounds.

I'll Fix it: Von Zeppel can attempt to make repairs to the Steam Tank in your hero phase. If he does, roll a dice; on a 4 or more he repairs one wound.

DESCRIPTION
GUNMASTER
A Gunmaster drive the War Wagon from the sterncastle. The Gunmaster has an additional attack with his Hochland Long Rifle.

MAGIC
A Battlemage can spells his energy from the War Wagon's sterncastle. At the beginning of the battle you must to choose a magical specialisation.

A Battlemage can attempt to cast one spell in each of your hero phases, and attempt to unbind a spell in each enemy hero phase. He knows the Arcane Bolt and Mystic Shield spells. A Battlemage also knows one more spell depending upon his magical specialisation.

I hope you like them!

Cheers and thanks in advance.

The Brush and Palette / Spiderfang Grots Army (Age of Sigmar)
« on: April 23, 2018, 02:23:20 PM »
Hi!!

The last year some friends and I decided to paint a 1000 points army for Age of Sigmar. We managed it as a "Paint challenge" with monthly goals and truly, it was very funny and motivator. Inspired by old White Dwarfs, we called it "A tale of Seven Warlords"..

I show you my Spiderfang Grots army. I hate spiders (total panic...) and I thought that it would be funny collect this army. By the way, the Arachnarok was painted by my brother, it's mine ;).

I hope you like them!
