So I have been thinking about a list for the 2k mark and I came up with the following:

The battalion has 2 of the heroes (marked in them, I wish the Veritant was an option there...) and all of the units bar the gryph hounds
it gives the following bonuses:
+1 Bravery near other units
Lightning Strike option for units
Re-roll 1's to wound when near 2 other units

Setup would be 2-3 units of Liberators and a unit of Judicators on the table with the Vexillor and Azyros (within 12" of the Vexillor) and the Castellant and Veritant with their gryph-hounds.
Preferrable huddle up on an objetive to secure it, while the Vex and Azyros keep save from shooting.
Give away (if possible) first turn (unless there is shooting coming your way that could devastate your deployed army or some fast movers. But they should hold their own.
In you turn when his playing field opened up:
- Vexillor picks up the Azyros to a place where you want your "alpha strike", when coming down a wave of energy will possible cause 3d damage already.
- Azyros then summons in a set of Retributors, Judicators and the Lord-Celestant.
- Shooting from judicators (getting reroll 1 to hit due to azyros, reroll 1 to wound from battalion) and the Lord-Celestant(on foot) will soften up any units / target unit
- Retributors will mob it up (not failing a 3" charge ofcourse)

You will still have the option to plunk "somewhere" the second unit of Retributors and/ or the Prosecutors for reinforcing a point or pickup on another objective.
And the Azyros will be in a great position to also let his lantern work blasting stuff in the next hero phase which could be potentially be the next in which also the Command ability for +1 to hit from the Lord-Celestant will make your Retributors nearby even more devastating for their new target.

Gryph hounds can harass and hold up units on the board or deny certain movement options (not ending within 3")


Now I don't have a few models yet of which the Vexillor (who will be my next purchase), Lord Veritant and Lord-Celestant (on foot)
So I will swap out some options on the heroes field.
Lord-Celestant on Dracoth for the Veritant (Plus a gryph hound) and Lord Celestant
- getting the Lord Celestant (on foot) then:
Knight Venator for the Veritant (to snipe wizards) till the Veritant is there

I wanted to start a thread on stuff to talk about on the Free Peoples, anything can go.

This is something I found pretty usefull:

Greatswords have a stat line of their weapons: 4+ to hit, 3+ to wound.
Their special ability as oathsworn honor guard makes this a 3+/3+
add to this the hold the line command ability by the Free Guild General this will be 2+/2+

Now as I have read in a tactics section the hornblowers ability can still be used to counter charge even if they can't move/charge due to the command ability.
This could potentially be devastating to an unknown opponent!

Any other nice stuff you guys found yet?

To join in my local Path to Glory Campaign I was able to make my own table.

Hope you like it and may even have some additions / improvements (for better or worse) (no time atm to improve the layout)


Use the following tables to determine the champion that leads your warband, the followers that make up the units which fight at their side, and the rewards they can receive after battle. If your warband uses the Free Peoples allegiance, you can pick retinue followers from the Devoted of Sigmar if there is atleast 1 Devoted of Sigmar hero follower in your warband. And Vice-Versa. Collegiate Arcane Champion can only pick from the Free Peoples retinue table.

A Free Peoples warband cannot have more then one of each type of Warmachine. Roll again if you get a duplicate result. *need a Battlemage champion or hero in your warband **need a Gunmaster hero in your warband.

As your warband progresses along the Path to Glory, it will attract more followers, and especially favoured units will become renowned across the Mortal Realms.
1For Sigmar!: Once per battle, in your hero phase, you can declare that this unit is inspired by Sigmar. The unit can run and charge in that turn.
2Combat Training: Re-roll hit rolls of 1 for this unit in the combat phase.
3Vendetta: At the start of the first battle round, pick an enemy unit. This unit adds 1 to all hit rolls for attacks that they make against the enemy unit that you pick.
4All-out Defence: In your hero phase, you can declare that this unit is adopting a defensive formation. If you do so, the unit cannot run or charge, but re-rolls failed save rolls until your next hero phase.
5Iron Discipline: This unit never has to take battleshock tests.
6Hardened Veterans: You can re-roll one failed hit, wound or save roll for this unit each turn.

As your champion progresses along the Path to Glory, they may be gifted with great rewards by the gods... if they are deemed worthy.
2Unnoticed by Sigmar: You loose 1 Glory Point. In addition , your champion cannot gain any further rewards for the rest of the campaign.
3Lead by Example: Add 1 to all wound rolls made for your champion in the same turn that they charge.
4Heroic Battle Cry: Once per battle, in your hero phase, your champion can make a heroic battle cry. If they do so, add 1 to hit rolls for your champion and all units from their warband for the rest of the turn.
5Mighty Blow: You can add 1 to the wounds inflicted by one succesful attack made by your champion in each combat phase. Add D3 to the wounds instead if the target is a follower of CHAOS or a MONSTER.
6Master-crafted Weapon: Pick one weapon used by the champion (it cannot be a weapon used by a mount if they have one). Add 1 to any hit rolls made for attacks with the weapon that you pick.
7Extraordinary Endurance: Add 1 to your champion's Wounds characteristic.
8Stalwart: Add 1 to the Bravery of the Champion. In addition, add 1 to the Bravery of any units from their warband that are within 8” of the champion in the battleshock phase.
9Blessed Sigmarite Armour: You can re-roll failed save rolls for your champion.
10Stubborn Defiance: In your hero phase, pick your champion or a unit from their warband that is within 10” of them. The unit you pick cannot move, charge or pile in, but you add 1 to all of it's save rolls until your next hero phase.
11Noble Blood: Roll a dice before a wound or mortal wound is inflicted upon the champion. On a roll of 6, the wound is negated and is not applied.
12Blessed by Sigmar: Once per battle, in your hero phase, you can heal all of the wounds that have been suffered by your champion. When you do so, you can add 1 to all of the champion's hit rolls, and subtract 1 from the hit rolls for enemy attacks made against the champion, until your next hero phase.

We're delighted to announce that this September will see the release of a brand new boxed game set in the Age of Sigmar. In Gorechosen, Champions of the Blood God battle each other for glory under the eyes of Khorne himself.

To the victor will go the favour of the Blood God. To the the losers, well… that Skull Throne always needs more offerings.

This box won't be available to order for a few months yet, but seeing as how it will be providing you with four Khorne Bloodbound heroes, and with the Season of War just a few weeks away, maybe it's time to start that Bloodbound army and get a head start (get it?) on collecting skulls for the Skull Throne..

It's been a while back (start of April) that I have been in a battle/tourney thingy for heroes. Bring 30 wounds of Hero's, Monsters and/or warmachines.

So I was looking at my Stormcast Eternals and with 4 hero's (7, 5, 5 and 5 wounds), no monsters and no warmachines and no really awesome big hitters amongst the hero's that could go up with the bigger lads (think Archaon, Nagash, Mannfred, Carnosaur and the likes) that would be a no go.

So what about my empire stuff?

Eventually I took the models I had from the Collegiate Arcane.
1 Battlemage on Griffon (13 wounds)
1 Celestial Hurricanum (11 wounds)
1 Battlemage (Jade) (5 wounds)
making it 29.

It would be a nice test to see what they could do and to add them as support for my Stormcast Eternals.

Well they are freaking awesome! (If you don't get screwed by the dice gods or with early heavy damage)

First battle was against 2 Daemon Princes dedicated to Slaanesh (8 wounds each) and a Herald of Slaanesh (5 wounds)
1st round (me starting)
failed all 3 attempts to cast a Mystic Shield.. well that is a promising start.. and that was with a +1 to casting from the Hurricanum and another +1 to casting for the Griffon mage as I was in the Beast realm (he gave me that boon)!
I didn't move as I wanted to have the option to cast spells before getting into combat.

His first turn:
he ran up all 3 models towards me and couldn't do anything else.

2nd round I won the initiative roll
Casting magic starting with the Huricanum: Casting Comet of Cassandora picking off one of his Daemon Princes (he picked the same one) casting made, roll for D6 wounds a 6! down to 2 wounds
Magic by the Battlemage, Arcane Bolt on the wounded Daemon Prince, made the cast 3 mortal wounds, down 1!
Magic by the Battlemage on the Griffon, Arcane Bolt on the 2nd Daemon Prince, 2 wounds (down to 6)

Movement: just moved up the Griffon to charge the Herald. (3") and the Hurricanum to within 10" of the Daemon Prince

Shooting: Time for the Storm of Shemtek by the Hurricanum. So at full health still 3 attacks by the Storm. and it says that for each attack I can select a target within 10". Combined 2 attacks on the Herald and with 5 wounds it took a full toll D3 and a D6 mortal wounds.
Last attack on the last Daemon Prince another D3 took 2 more off it.

The battlemage on Griffon took 2 wounds from the Daemon Prince as he could go first (due to it being a Slaanesh Daemon Prince) and then went totally berserk on it taking it out.

End game.

2nd game was a 2(Chaos) vs 2(Order, Duardin and me) vs 1 (Seraphon)

Casting didn't really went my way and going last in 2 battle rounds didn't help either taking loads of damage (from slann's comet) so didn't do much anymore and was taken out on battle round 4 (after combined effort Seraphon was gone)
