The Brush and Palette / Bright wizard. Modelling help required. (Now finished)

Hi.
I need help with modelling a bright wizard.
Well, to be exact I need help with one last piece.

I have no idea how to pull off this metal collar-like thing:

I already have the flagellant head with brazier on the top, but it's just not enough.
Anything helps ... Bits suggestions, or scratch building ideas.

The Electors' Forum / BSB (mounted or on foot?)

I need help from my fellow Empire players...
I finally got all the bits I needed for my battle standard bearer and now I'm not sure which one should I assemble...
BSB on foot or the mounted version?

What are their advantages and disadvantages?
And if mounted should I mount him on barded warhorse (+1 As) or the regular warhorse (+1 M)?

Well here's the start of my Altdorf army:

on the picture
Captain on foot (6th edition command sprue + greatsword head)
Captain on barded warhorse (not yet finished, contains bits from 7 different boxes; my biggest conversion so far)
20 swordsmen, full command (standard bearer not yet finished) (Thanks to Obi who sent me legs for the champion)
12 plastic greatswords (new plastic box + 2 conversions)
other miniatures
Reiksguard command, I use them as my greatsword command models (and I owe these to Marek, who gave them to me for free)
5 metal greatswords (6th edition models)
7 knights panther

Hi people !
I need some help...
I'm trying to figure out the Imperial guard color scheme.
I'm sure you've seen this one too on the GW's page...

I'm sure that they've used white undercoat and
the armor looks like a mix of Dheneb stone & Bleached Bone washed with some kind of orange/brown diluted paint...
I have no idea about the rest...

The Electors' Forum / Your thoughts about spearmen...

Hi guys...

I'd like to hear a few thoughts about this idea...
I was thinking about buying a horde of spearmen... I'd put around 40 (full command included) in one block...
And I'd use them mostly in 1000-1500p battles...

So my questions are :
1) Are they any good on the battlefield?
2) Should I give them shields ?

Hi guys !
I'm new to Warhammer, but I'm pretty familiar with it...

I've chosen Empire because it's inspired by Renaissance, one of my favourite parts of history (and it's close to The Eagle and the Radiant Cross mod for M&B too) .

Second of all, it's on the edge of destruction, surrounded by bloodthirsty races ready to destroy it and it needs to struggle to survive...

I also like their color schemes... And there's plenty of them to choose and my favourite ones were :
- Nordland (it reminded me of Haelmarian union, my favourite faction from The Eagle and the Radiant Cross )
- Averland (yellow and black, just like Holy Roman empire)
- Talabecland (just because I like yellow and red)

I've chosen Talabheim in the end... And It's settled in Talabecland so I can always paint part of my army in that style to represent reinforcements from other parts of the province...


My army currently consist of :
- 5 metal greatswords (6th edition)
- 8 panther knights from knightly orders pack (not yet assembled)

So here they are : my first ever painted miniatures... Unfortunately they look quite ugly and they are still unfinished (heads, hands and swords... And the gold color is just a placeholder... it's a mix of GWs Chainmail and no name yellow color)



I was trying to take pictures using different light sources... And the second one is the best in my opinion...

So I want to order a few new paints and I'd like to know are they worth getting and what are you experiences with them...
I'm going to paint plastic Panther knights and I'd like to know a something about their coverage and other characteristics...
