How is Munchkin still a thing?

Its like Monopoly. And I think GW are doing 40k monopoly too.

Do not pass Go, do not collect the skulls of your enemies.

I don't remember Gandalf walking around in bare feet all the time. Isn't that a different hippie wizard?

Thats Gandalf the Ginger. Hes on the special edition DVD.

I only bother visiting this site now to see if this has restarted.

Same. I have my fingers crossed that Rufus will return like a ginger Gandalf.

Celebratory Wombat Post

Good to see you, Rufus.

We should move on, but only if you feel up to it. I would understand if youre feeling low on motivation.

X2, Im game to continue. I need to edit my bookmarks so that I come direct to this thread now. Wonder why were in the imperial office.

Apparently this is in a different board for some reason?  :icon_confused:

Well, we've been on a massive break due to my disappearance. Sorry about that. Story-wise we've pretty much wrapped up everything in Marienburg - the riots are ongoing, but that's not really a problem the group could solve. The dark elf plot has been exposed and various chaos-cultists have been vanquished.

Do we want to carry on? If so, I think it might be best to move on to the final section of the campaign. What do people think?

Youre back!!!! Huzzah!!!!

What happened to the game tread?

Its now stickies here at the imperial office forum.

I miss this  :|

My wife is reading the Harry Potter series.

I just started rereading The Hobbit. Gosh those movies were terrible.

If you somehow end up in the North Carolina/Virginia area, let me know! I surely owe you some beers!

Resurrecting to talk about board games!

Just picked up Memoir 44 with the Operation Overlord expansion to boost the game to be up to six players. Ive been enjoying the command and colors system again lately. Anyone play or have theater expansions?

Missing you Rufus! Hope all is well

I was talking with one of my closest friends the other day and the subject of star trek came up. He used to be the worlds biggest trekker. We started talking about how in the 90's, star trek went from being a fairly popular thing to a super nerdy thing due to an influx of movies [staring a rapidly aging cast] and tv shows which tired the general public. My dad [who used to be a logger and factory worker] LOVED the original star trek but started hating it circa 1995 due to the flood of movies, tv shows and the vocal fanbase. My friend the former trekker has given up on the franchise as he has 'trek tiredness'

Wait, the 90's? That was the golden revival period led by The Next Generation, followed by the excellent DS9 and the ok-ish Voyager.

Maybe if you were a die hard Original series fan and just wanted to roll around in that forever you'd have had a problem, but IMO the 90's were great for Star Trek.

Looks good!

Did I see giant space tentacles?

Im hesitantly optimistic. Not confident in the Han Solo Actor.

Donald Glover looks perfect for Lando.

I pretty much assume Mortus is always drunk on Brandy.

Hope everything is OK Rufus!

I might be going to Philadelphia in the autumn, which means I'd likely have to use my holiday budget and leave for that instead of Bash this year.

My thoughts and advice, go with Chain of Command instead. :icon_mrgreen:

Read the rules and wasn’t that interested at first. Seems more focused on commanding. The movement rules seem finicky. I think the bolt action rule set fits my taste better coming out of the warhammer world.

Historical Games / Karl Voss first Bolt Action Army list
« on: January 06, 2018, 10:28:15 PM »
Hello all,

Im thinking of getting into Bolt Action. Given my love of WW2 history, and watching a few games played I think Id enjoy it. Just need to find some people to play against.

My thought it to start with a 500 point Army to keep it simple and expand from there. I know there are a few players lurking about here so Id thought Id get some input. Im thinking of doing an US Airborne Army List to start. My uncle jumped in Normandy, and my other uncle crewed an M4 Sherman until wounded at Anzio. I think itd be fun to have some things in the Army to be a salute or memoir to them.

Stereotypical choice for a yank? Maybe, but whatever.

Anyway here is my starter list:

2LT (regular) with M1 Carbine (60pts)
+ 1 Infantry with Rifle

Paratrooper Squad - 9 man (Veterans) (140pts)
1 NCO with SMG
1 1919 LMG Gunner
1 LMG Loader
6 Infantry with Rifle

Paratrooper Squad - 9 man (Veterans) (140pts)
1 NCO with SMG
1 1919 LMG Gunner
1 LMG Loader
6 Infantry with Rifle

60mm Mortar Team - 2 man paratrooper (Veteran) (46pts)

Bazooka Team - 2 man (Regular) (60pts)

Sniper Team - 2 man (Regular) (52pts)

Total: 498
6 order dice

My hope is this will provide a good flexible base Army to start with, and inexpensive to get into. From here I can learn my play style and begin to add some more infantry, spotters, and some tanks. My first addition will probably be an M4 Sherman variant.

Thoughts? Advice?

The purple hand has captured Rufus. Hes being held in a warehouse that we need to raid.
