Had my first game with 500 points Tau. Was a blast in more then one way :)
Though I did not have a lot of luck, my piranha got shot to bits in his first turn by the dunecrawler
And (with learning my opponents army) I realized that trying to take down his dunecrawler and/or priest is a difficult task if your few heavy hitting weapons wiff

Warhammer 40k Discussion / Re: Khorne Bezerker question
« on: June 17, 2017, 08:21:23 PM »
You can have several ways to have this happen.

1. you charge the khorne beserkers (they charged and go first) - after all chargers have fought you then start with a unit and pick the khorne beserkers again, and then alternate units till done.

2. you charge the khorne beserkers (they charged and go first) - after all chargers have fought you then start with another unit, and then alternate units till done. So the Khorne beserkers might end up after their opponent.

3. you kill your enemy with the khorne beserkers in their first round of fighting, they consolidate 3" towards then next closest enemy and might get stuck in again. But now it depends on wether you have declared a charge earlier versus that second unit.
a. no not declared: you cannot attack, but your opponent might if he didn't attack before
b. yes it was declared, fight again!!! (downside versus declaring against multiple targets is the possible suffering more overwatch)

So I did manage to go up to "750" points well not really but 680 and finish it up with a Hurricanum too the 1000 point mark, but then the Escalation League died a bit out and my hobby mojo was stalling.. It is back now and here is a unit that was almost done, but is now definitely off my working on list.

Test model done past week (photo's up now) and started to do the rest of the Pathfinder team
Well done... I miss The Fang as color for the skin so his "feet" aren't done yet just as the base isn't finished yet.

More on his colorscheme on my blog:

Also really nice to hear those Vox casts, in one they mentioned that they now have options with the Stratagems to add new rules to aid in recreating certain lore events.

« on: June 08, 2017, 02:18:48 PM »
I think a shift to AoS and 40k Imperium factions as the primary direction for the site move would be the most successful.  There aren't any really decent Guard/Astra/Mechanicus sites.

This, but I said that 1,5 years ago in this thread already, trying to gain an inpulse on new people flowing into the forum to find this place as their new home for Free People and Stormcast. Mostly we missed that momentum with AoS but might be able to get it flowing for 40K.

For AoS http://www.tga.community/forums/ has taken that up getting most of the older and new players for AoS and it has alliance specific subfora to have a bit of diversity going.

what are people thinking about the extras?

I don't think the wound dice are good value. they're just d10s and d20s.
and the objectives are too much for me.

I might buy the cards and the command dice, though?
The command dice are 12.50 though!

Wound dice are to much for me also.. I have enough Magic Dice still left to be used

The command Dice might be a bit pricey but they look great! So I did order a set. And the Cards is easy for use in game instead of a book(let) having to flip through.
And the Objectives I did order not for the objectives them selfs but they make great scenery pieces as well. (I don't have alot of Scenery anyway)

Psyked to see the game this evening on Twitch/Warhammer between Tau and Khorne

Welcome! Your AoS experts are here! If there's something stealthknightsteg or baronvonklatz don't know then it doesn't exist 😺

Yes I am the all knowing Goeroe of AoS..

ehmm no but I try to know a lot or try to bestimate things :)

Sa'cea Sept has Orange as their sept color and normally they have blue-grey camoufage for their urban fighting, but I'll make them in to light grey's and some white with light blue linings for a snow/ice camouflage theme. And the Bonding Knife ritual color will be a dark green. (pine tree'ish coloring)

The Orange will make a nice reference to my Seraphon (of which I only really started painting the mordheim warband for) while the dark green is a reference to my Stormcast all the while I'm still doing something completely different

So I'll start my "blog" here about my Tau, well mostly also on my wordpress blog, but will keep posting here when there are updates with little snippets of what I have done.

So my Tau Empire box of Burning Dawn is build and I just need to magnetize the bases and do a little greenstuff on the Piranha.

Here is a group shot

more individual unit shots on my blog

all (most) walkers/veheciles went up quite a bit, just to reflect the new rules on them

I read a nice article on BOLS (yes yes I know.. almost impossible...) about how people really should not compare 7e with 8e

You got till the 17th to wrap your head around most of it before everything goes apeshit :)

Markerlights for Tau are awesome now.. no more spending the tokens, just put 5 succesfull markerlights on a unit and reap your opponents tears :)

Pathfinder / markerdrones will now be mandatory in every list I imagine
