How about one of those new Battle Scrolls with the Knightly Orders in the meantime? Or better Witch Hunter rules?

Perfect home for an Engineer on a mechanical horse. Impact hits? Multiple shots? Don't mind if I do! Last edition, I used to run him alongside a unit of Pistoliers (without actually joining them) and he'd shoot what they targeted, and charge what they charged. It was a good combo...

I agree with VT, in that I can see why they're unreleased. They look more like Mordheim Gladiators. You're paintjob, as always, does justice to what are otherwise bunk sculpts. I especially like the Celt style paint/tats; it helps bring out their savagery.
Very nice, Albrecht. What did you use as the base for your Light Dude?
Black. I've used black basecoat exclusively for over fifteen years. I think it adds depth in interesting spots and covers a multitude of sins as well!

Your piece by piece photos are making me relive this painstaking task all over again haha. I took the same approach, at least this method gives you hope each time you complete a minor piece to this massive puzzle. Though I took the lazier option to paint 1 wizard model to man my hurricanum, rather than painting 2 acolytes ..not that I would ever play it that way in a game. Yours looks great though especially the light and dark contrasts on the horses. Looks crisp. Mine cost me around 40-45 hours of my life ...how many hours have you pumped into this monster so far?
This. And I did two Acolytes...
I worked on this model on and off for almost a six months. After doing the same with a War Altar. Couldn't even begin to count the hours.
I love the results you're showing, and look forward to the finished model!

Witch Hunters should have horses as an option also.
This. You can more easily weed out evil and heresy when you can come and go as you please and not hitchhiking across the Empire.

Can I just go back to moving skirmishers around 40K style? 8th Edition finally has core rules for occupying buildings, and yet now the folks most likely to occupy them are now relegated to custom movement trays...

Could be legit. The only Finecast models, besides Special Characters, are the Warrior Priest and Witch Hunter. And we lack a proper Empire Pegasus. And Knights have been rumored for years. This release could fill the gaps, and we'd truly be all plastic.
From what I've seen, they look promising. http://taleofpainters.blogspot.fr/2013/11/review-citadel-technical-paints.html#more
I especially like the blood.
I literally just copied that link to post, but yes. I'm actually excited to pick these up.

True, I wish there was a less flowing robe-y main body.

If you're even remotely proficient with an X-Acto knife and green stuff, the current box of plastic ones are great, and it's not too hard to make any of the colleges. And the parts that come with the Luminark/Hurricanum are even better. A bits service online will have the parts for relatively cheap if you don't have or want to but the kits. The metal ones are way too wonky and old school for me.
