The Brush and Palette / Re: Oh **** moments

A bad batch of plastic glue crystallized instead of bonding. I not only had to rebuild about a dozen or so guys I'd spent hours building around Christmas, including heavily converted knights, but my Skullvayne Manse crumbled apart as well.

While rebuilding Manse, I basically turned myself into a dolphin with Zap by glueing most of my right hand together. Not a shining moment for someone that's been doing this for over 20 years...

Worst part was, my night of hobbying was pretty much done because I couldn't feel or manipulate anything with my glue crusted fingertips.

I was crazy enough to put in a couple bids on eBay, but when the auctions were cresting $50+, I backed out. I might spend up to $30, but more than half a hundo for a single model is pushing it in my book.

Already going for roughly $50 US on eBay... :eusa_wall:

Anyone stateside going to the upcoming Forge World event at Adepticon and wanna get one for me?  :biggriin:

The Brush and Palette / Re: Painting Luminark / Hurricanum

I painted almost the whole Hurricanum before assembly. Same with the War Altar. I consider myself an experienced modeler and yet, these kits took a lot outta me. A Luminark is not in my near future...

The Arch Lector from the War Altar would be a good start.

I'd be wary of mixing alcohol and water based paints.  Cleanup, blending, and dry times would be too thrown off, at least for me.

Perhaps the greatest use of foamcore and paint since the construction of Kristen Stewart.

Every so often, I fix up older models. Maintenance is a good thing. A dab of paint, a new feather, nicer base, another highlight. Mostly though, I bust out my fluffy GW Tank BrushTM and give them a good dusting.
