Derek Contyre: I stand corrected, you are right. But i still don't think that our infantry should have more than light armour(with the exception of a single unit of veterans and the Greatswords.)

Commandant: Have you read the bret army book? thier men-at-arms are ws2, I belive the extra training is what gives us ws3.

Actualy.  In the mountains between bretonia and the empire lies the land of the blood dragons(vampires) and in the forrests between bretonia and the empire the live wood elfs who do not take kindly to humans felling their forrests and of cource their's the forces of chaos both beastmen and hidden diciples.

I thought of something like

Army pts val.          Free halberd unit size.
less than 2000        10*
2000 or more          15*
3000 or more          20*
4000 or more          25*
each +1000            +5more*

*all with full command unit.

And you can ofcourse pay to increase the unit size as normal.

I also put this one in another post.
But do you think it would be to much/OP?

I may be a retard for asking, but here goes.
Other than equipment, what's the advantage of taking a unit of foot knights over a unit of GS? Becourse I can't imagine that GW would give the empire a 3+/2+ AS infantry unit.

If you make the halberd stronger, you make Black Guards stronger.
And why do every one want to give all the state troops heavy or full plate armour?
Would the empire, witch is on war on all sides really have the resurces for that?

There's a lot of things i don't think that would work.
First there's the pikemen, they are too "old fashion" for the empire.(they were used by the greeks in the bronce age) And they would have used the Phalanx formation and not the Testudo(turtoise) formation.
Second I think that heavy armour is a little too elite for empirial grunts.
And I also feel that the empire is a "base army". Too many ws4 core choises and special rules would ruin that.
But maybe thats just me. :Ohmy:

Would't an Elector Count have an entorage? A group of follower, caretakers, bodyguard and the like?
Elector Count(-es) +125pts
Equipment; Fullplate Armour, Runefang and up to an aditional 50pts of magical items.
BsB. An Elector Count allways have there personal standard with them; May take any magical banner, no price limit.
Body Guards; Re-roll any failed armour saves.
May take a single unit of Greatswords as a core unit.
Any unit he/she joins become immune to panic.
The hole unit is a single model on a 4*4 base with +1 wound.

Thats my idea :biggriin:

Q: Does the Bretonnian 'Virtue of Heroism' allow Killing Blow against the Steam Tank?
A: Yes. There are no restrictions in the BRB in regards to Killing Blow against War Machines.

Killing Blows are restricted to unit stregth 2 creatures. And cannot harm the steamtank.
