Blind deployment is much easier if you just make a map of the field and then draw on how you want to deploy your units. Requires a sense of scale, but isn't that hard.

I don't find it hard from the perspective of deploying my army - it's about what my opponent is going to do that makes it challenging.  Even with as large as this army is, it fits mostly in a nice 12" area as long as I don't try to vastly overweigh one flank.  The trick is just do I anticipate correctly which side of the field to place my hammers and anvils for maximum effectiveness.
