Giant falls into h-t-h...
« on: December 01, 2005, 02:45:11 PM »
During a game last night I killed a Giant in the shooting phase.  It proceeded to fall over into an adjacent h-t-h going on.  Note that the Giant was not in any base to base contact, he was just nearby when annihilated.
So, my opponent and I could not find any reference as to what happens when a Giant falls into h-t-h between two other units.  We tried finding a reference to use such as if it had been a template weapon like a mortar but no luck.
I have used the Search function on this site but still no luck! :(

Please help.

Cheers,

a falling Giant is a template, and follows the normal rules for templates into combat, on pg 60-61.

This leads me to think of another situation.

What if giant has moved over obstacle and falls over. Thus engaging a unit in combat. Do you fight the combat? Does it not count as combat? I could see arguments both ways here.

That's interesting.
And does the giant count as charging?

And if yes, what if you have a unit defending an obstacle, and they get charged by the giant, flees and the giant trips at the obstacle and falls into contact with the fleeing unit? (this could make a exellent movie scene :P) Is it destroyed by charging enemy?

a falling Giant isn't a way to get a charge off.  Remember, the base of the giant stays were it is, only the template is layed down.  It would do the normal damage under the template, and the Giant would be out of combat where he fell.
