Boyars?
« on: January 04, 2009, 06:57:29 PM »
I have the chronicals 2004 and use the Kislev rules from it.  It says Boyars are stubborn and so are the unit with him.

My question is there a minimum size for an allied contingent. (i was planning on 1 unit of gryphon legion and the boyar)

Also can the boyar be in another unit not from the allied contigent. (aka a big block of state troops made stubborn with out the expensive magic banner)

The best policy is to declare victory and leave.

No allie contingent characters have to be in allied contengent units and vise versa.

It would be rad to stick a Boyar in a unit of 29 halberdiers

Your right I was thinking off the top of my head but found book and looked it up.

But I can't help but imagine the possibilities a monstrous unit of stubborn Knights of the Inner Circle or pikes

also if kossars could be used for detachments it would be amazing stand and shoot or charge with great weapons tough decision

You must follow the Core/Special restrictions from the allied list as well.  Thus you must include at least one unit of Core to field the Gryphon legion unless you use them as DoW (in which case you may not field the Boyar).

attach the kossars to Greatswords stand and shoot then charge in your turn..... if only they could be used as detachments...

You need two core units minimum as Gryphon Legion are special.

I believe in the kislev book that it says you only have to field one core unit and one character to use them as an allied contingent. The only further restriction is that this core unit may not be counted towards the minimum in the parent army list.
If you dont have this book I would suggest looking on the Australian games workshop website as last time I checked it they hosted many of the supplementary army books such as dogs of war, albion etc.

My 2004 Chronicles lists the minimum Core choices for an Allied contingent as 1-3 for 1000 to 2000 points.
