Custom Built War Altar
« on: August 17, 2007, 04:35:13 PM »
So, those of you who were at ETC probably saw this beauty, and for the rest who didn't - here it is.

It's scratch built, from balsa and grey stuff, with some plasticard action and real chains.

Couple of flagelants added to the mix, and the Warrior priest is Ulric Archlector.

It was all done in about 1 week, by Sasa Hamzic from Zagreb, and if you want him to do something for you as well, i'll be happy to hook you up, contact me via PM.

The paintjob is mine, and medicore to say the least, but i was in a rush to get it done for ETC, plus i don't have the steady hand, time nor the nerves for good painting  :D

It's very glossy due to heavy inkage, but a dullcoat will dull it down a lot.

So, this beauty isn't here for the painting comments (i know it sux, i did it myself  :icon_cool: ), but for someone to get inspiration and to show off pride and joy of my empire forces :D

Btw, i've just realised i'm late for the best War Altar competition

He's got some reading to do. Looks great man, with the flaggies towing it and stuff...

My war-altar from Bretonnia in WIP stage has flaggies lifting and pulling the war-altar like your guys...

Out of curiosity, did you paint a layer of wood stain or similar substance over the whole Altar? It looks a lot like the dipped stuff on this and other websites (and is something I'm considering to cover my lousy paint jobs).

Actually no, it's just regular brown ink, but i didn't do a dullcoat on it so it looks shiny. it will go away :D
