The Ditto

The ditto is among the most extrordinary creatures of the old world. No one knows how it ever came in to being, and the few who even know about it's existance have never came upon the same conclusion twice. The special characteristic of the ditto is that it can change itself into almost anything! That is why it is so hard to detect. If you know what to look for, you may search a thousand years and still only catch a glimpse of one as it slides from being one thing into another. But if it is caught and isolated, it may be tamed quite easily and used in the most spectacular ways against an enemy!
The Imperial Zoo claims to have had a Ditto in one of it's cages, but this fact is much disputed. The man delivering the Ditto was later charged with 100 gold sovreigns as the claimed Ditto still was a donkey after two weeks. However, only a few days later, the donkey was gone. Some simply believed it had climbed out of its cage, but as the spiked fence is four meters tall, most people belive it to have been stolen.
However, the Altdorf Zoo guards reported many strange things the next week. The three lions had been four one night, there had been five Lustrian lizards where there had been four, and one of the guards still claims to have met himself during one of the nightly patrols.
The strange happenings ceased after a while and since then, no one has seen or heard of a Ditto.

The large and rare creature known as the ditto and it's handlers may be hired by any army (except bretonnia, the ditto does not like chivalry!)
            M WS BS S T W I  A Ld
Ditto      X   X  X  X X  4 X X  X
Handler   4  3   3  3  3  1 3 1  8
Horse     8  3   0  3  3  1 3 1  6

The ditto is mounted on a 40mmx40mm base and comes with two handlers.

The Ditto
The ditto can transform into any model it touches at the start of any phase. Out of combat, this is mostly the handlers, unless the ditto is joined by a character. In combat, the ditto can transform into any model it touches, inheriting it's characteristics (save for wounds), armour and even magic items! The ditto is that powerful! If facing a ridden monster, the ditto may choose to simulate the monster OR the rider, not both. Cavalry, however is perfectly fine to simulate, as the ditto simply believes the rider and the mount is one creature (not too bright) and transforms itself into them.

If the handlers are killed or if the ditto is reduced to 0 wounds, the ditto will transforme into a rock, grass, dirt, water or something similar, never to be seen again. It is removed as a casualty.

I love it. Entertaining and useful. As far as its characteristics go, does this mean if you join your L4 wiz with the unit, you essentially have 2 wizard lords?

I think stats and armour wise yes, other affects no.

Still love it though.

A unit of Mimes

They don't inflict any damage with their fake weapons when the attack.  Cause fear, and are fearless.

So, they're basically an annoying unit that does nothing, but get in the way of what real units are doing.  Like real mimes.

Haha no they should do damage... the exact same damage dealt to them... cuz they're miming it!
I don't know what a pisolires is but it sounds like a musical instrument you play with urine...

The Ditto

Very good  :eusa_clap:

However I am curious - do you work for GW or are they paying you a big fat fee.

It occurs to me that anyone wishing to have this unit will need to have an endless supply of 40mm bases modelled with the 2 handlers and then every other character/monster/model of note in the game.

It could become the most expensive box set GW have done or the most profitable RoR in their history.

Indeed!
I am really a GW lurker, preying upon the weak-willed minds of the poor warhemmer nerds of this forum! Soon we will issue our master plan, and all the world's cookies will be ours!! Bwahahahaha!!!

.... or not. I tried to get a job there, but they didn't want me. (They don't know what they are missing, the tiny minded fools  )

And you would have to use a rather large collection of miniatures to be able to use the Ditto  :biggriin: It is just to start collecting!
And joining in a wizard in the Ditto unit would just make it the shooting magnet of all times!  Although you would get a rather nifty magic phase!(Can greater daemons join units?  :icon_twisted: )

Isnt Ditto a Pokemon?

Wouldnt it be too strong if it can get the magic items from the opponent?

Anyways, the correct term for the ditto in the Warhammer world would be a Doppelganger. :::cheers:::

Okay some comment on the Arch Commandos.
I don't really think I agree with the idea of a test subject being passed around between the clans... that seems too cooperative for the Skaven. lol.

Maybe if you change the fluff around where a particularly independent Skaven hero feels the urge to exploit the different major clans as a sort of thief character, it might sound a little Skaven, whilst, remaining out of character - since all Skaven fear and have some kind of respect for the greater clans, but this guy... just doesn't.

Having said, I think it's better if you stick with a single super hero rather than a duo with a special regiment. A sort of... DOW general/assassin.

There seems to be too much equipment at their disposal ... and the idea of the greater clans handing them out seems ... un-Skaven. And for them to be notorious thief (or thieves if you stick with a unit) then it seems odd that they would haul such heavy and heavy maintenance weapons like pistols and ratling guns.

I don't know, I just don't like the unit as is, and maybe that's because I simply have different perception of what I want ... lol

I dont like the arch commandos either, theres way too much going on there. Perhaps if it was like a gutter runner unit that was just better then gutter runners, you know what I'm saying?
