In my opinion people really need to stop having hills/buildings inside deployment zones.

Makes me have to actually think about where I put my artillery.

Yeah it was all down to luck, I'd have liked some more terrain pieces but I should have rolled higher!

Yeah it was fun, got to use a new army and try some things out (a hero with gem of hoeth and steed of shadows as his single spell = very handy!) and Soth is a nice opponent anyway (except when he's firing those helstorms!)

To be fair, the elves look slightly more like an army than is usually the case. There's actually a decently-sized infantry unit.

It's nice to see the big unit of knights in the Empire army.

I'm nervous to fill all of my special slots with artillery.
You see the guys in my gaming group are smart and almost always field that one special or rare unit that can randomly spawn in on them (i.e. Gutter Runners; Yetties; Tunnelers; etc.).
At first I thought they did it because they know I love my artillery, however I noticed they do it almost every game (we play mostly 2vs.2) as they know everyone will have at least one piece of artillery in their army.

Do you folks have any good cheap suggestions for artillery guards? I’m looking for a solution that’s effective for my Empire army but is cheap.

On track...those are nice looking armies you folks have there, Soth is one of the best painters I have seen.

Funnily enough, Engineers make decent artillery guards: get them pistols and repeaters, and they can actually remove models before they hit your guns. Outriders are still categorically better, of course.
Captains work too.

I really like the report guys. Too bad for cisse, I wish my high elf friend had such bad luck.

Or am I mistaken? Could be. In any case, yes folks, Soth's mortars are dangerous. After last game, I have to admit his helstorms are dangerous too.

I can't have looked at the pictures properly. If you had two infantry units, you were actually doing better than Soth.
