Okay, so the list, as it stands now, is:

Guvnor
Sigsfried
Cisse
Lizardking
Gutsy
RagingKileak

Only one more is needed. Huzzah!

Huzzah indeed!

Who does everyone want to be?

Germany, Russia or France. I like a lot of options, and "corner countries" are not exactly my style.

Gutsy, if you haven't already, you may want to go ahead and sign up on the DEDO judge. This can be done here.

Otherwise, perhaps we should go with the USOS Judge? It seems to be faster, and it doesn't screw around with my email like DEDO does.

Okay, I've convinced myself.

Anybody not already signed up on USOS, please do so (same page as listed above).

Gutsy, you may wish to sign up for DEDO as well, so that you can observe the games currently in progress (sigmar and morr). Once you have signed up, you can become an observer simply by sending an email to the judge saying:

signon osigmar [password]
signoff

if you wanted to observe 'sigmar';

or

signon omorr [password]
signoff

if you wanted to observe 'morr'.
(Obviously, the password is not supposed to be in brackets).

Being an observer means that you receive all results and broadcasts in the game. You are also able to send press and broadcasts of your own, but comments or suggestions of a tactical nature are frowned upon.

Well, I second that - USOS works both faster and more reliable for me too.

We need one more player, right? Let's hope we can start soon...

I'm hoping that Etharion will join, given that he appears to be winding down his involvement in the current two W-E games ;).

Me as well for USOS, much more efficient- and I can tell it apart from morr.

Gutsy: In this game it is england- The UK doesn't exist yet...

I was not aware of that. Well then, my first choice would be England then.

EDIT: I registered for the USOS judge, and recieved an email from usos (at) onesite (dot) org. Is this the place I send messages to?

Etharion is deliberately winding down his presence in Sigmar, as I'm just too busy too keep up with it, but I have no intention of giving up Morr just yet.

I don't know why I'm doing this, but I've always wanted to play... sigh.  Time...

I bought diplomacy 15 years ago, could never find players.  It has layers of dust on it.

Yeah, ok, I'll play if you still need a spot.  How long does a game last?

Ok, I'm registered.

As for countries, doesn't matter much to me.  I know from reading, there's some better than others.  For this game however, I can go whereever.

Lizardking, if you want to register to USOS, Valmir gave the link a couple of posts ago.

Does this mean we have 7 players? Does this mean we can start? :-D

For those who don't know about it already, may I suggest Diptool?

This is a program which will create maps, manage orders, collect/write press, etc. It can pretty much do anything, but you can engage with it as much as you choose to (for example, I still do all of my press through my email client, rather than in DipTool itself). Anyway, a great program, if you choose to utilise it.

Really now? Statistically, Russia wins a bit more than the rest, and Italy is crap. But otherwise, the game balance is admirable.
The only good thing about 7th ed heads is that they look particularly inbred and superstitious which is perfect for Stirlanders

For an interesting take on the geographical imbalance, and perhaps WHY some of the countries do statistically better than others, read Geography is Destiny by Paul Windsor. Additionally, his theory gives rise to some thought-provoking ideas on alliances as well.

EDIT: At the same time, though, I don't want to espouse a view that you should simply 'regurgitate' the teachings of a half dozen or so articles on the Archive. Certainly, no article tells prospective Tsars that they should attack Germany in 1901... ;)

This article tells me that it isn't my fault I lose with Germany. I approve.

Also: Valmir, Vengeance will come. Possibly not in this game, probably not at my hands, but the next time something bad happens to you, know that I approve.

Oh dear, once again I have the message:

Sorry, sigsfried@gmail.com is already signed up to play
a power in game 'taal'.  Only one person from each area, please.

This is confusing and annoying, and i don't know what I did wrong.

I sent:
signon ?taal hippo
set preference AGFRTEI
signoff
