This page, originally posted here by Zack, has some nice maps.

http://home-5.tiscali.nl/~haagweg/rik/arch/empire.html

Though they are based more on WFRP, the only major difference is the inclusion of Suddenland (which no longer exists in warhammer - now refered to as Solland?).

The (current) provinces are:

Altdorf (City-State)
Averland
Hochland
Middenheim (City-State)
Middenland
The Moot
Nordland
Nuln (City-State)
Ostermark
Ostland
Reikland
Stirland
Talabecbecland
Talabheim (City-State)
Wissenland

All are electoral except for the city-states, and all of those are home to a clerical elector (Grand Theogenist, two Arch-Lectors, Ar-Ulric). Altdorf is of course also the seat of the Emperor.

What kind of thing are you after? You can get some information (mixture of WFB and WFRP though) at:

http://www.criticalhit.co.uk/wfrp/empire.shtml

Otherwise, I could write something if you say what you need.

Is it possible you can write like 4-5 lines MAX on each one? That would be a great help!

Here's the description of the states and city states from The Empire Collector's Guide:

Nuln:

Nuln is famous for its Gunnery School where forge masters make
cannons and the best artillery men are trained. As cannons are
notoriously filthy, artillery men are often covered in soot and grime, so it is convenient the colour used in Nuln's Livery is black. Many artillery men wear a leather jerkin to protect them from the discharge. Other Nuln regiments also wear black, with a contrasting ribbon and plume colour to distuingish them. The livery of Nuln is black with (usually) bone white ribbons.

Middenheim:

The city state of Middenheim is second only in power and influence to Altdorf. Situated close to both the Middle Mountains and Drakwald Forest, it is the city of the White Wolf, and the centre of worship of the god Ulric. Shields carried by Middenheim Troops often depict the wolf in some guise or other. Middenheim is also the home of the famous order, The Knights of the White Wolf. The livery of Middenheim is blue and white.

Talablecland:

Talablecland is named for the nature-god Taal, and as it lies at the heart of the Empire so it also forms the centre of the Great Forest which stretches from Kislev to Altdorf. Because of this it is one of the most sparsely populated provinces in the Empire, its settlements mostly spaced along the River Talabec at its northern border and the River Stir at its south. Every citizen of Talablecland is an adept woodsman, and because of this the state's armies are perhaps the best in the Empire at operationg withing the confines of the deep forests of the Old World. The livery of Talablecland is red and yellow.

Wissenland:

Wissenland is located at the extreme south-east of the Empire. It has a reputation in Nearby Reikland for being dull, and it is true that the Elector of Wissenland, Emanuelle von Liebewitz, is actually the Countess of Nuln and spends the vast majority of her time entertaining there. However this scorn is recoprocated by the people of Wissenland, who wiev thee Reikland city dwellers as effete fops. Lacking the funds of the Emperor's own province the Wissenlanders have developed their own methods of dealing with greenskin invasions from the mountains. Their skilled archers and outriders shower the horders with fire before falling back to avoid retaliation and regrouping for another assault. The livery of Wissenland is grey and white.

Altdorf:

Altdorf is the seat of the Empire itself, with a population of hundrers of thousands. Its universities and academies are the pinnacle of learning, the School of Engineers creates more ingenious devices every year, and the Colleges of Magic are the greatest sources of magical lore in the Old World. Altdorf lies upon the junction of the rivers Reik, Upper Reik and Talabec, and this brings yet more wealth as traders move their goods through towards Marienburg. Truly Altdorf is the greatest city in the Old World, and its army is equipped and trained to the highest possible standard. The livery of Altdorf is mainly blue and red with some white.

Stirland:

Stirland is a large province to the east of the Empire. For all its size lacks the wealt of more important provinces such as Reikland, Middenland or Ostland, and despite this its comparative size seems to lead the nobility of Stirland to attempt to compete with that of the wealthier realms. Because of this, the commanders of Stirland's armieshave a reputation for rash bravery, perhaps feeling that they have something to prove. This was exemplified by the Count of Stirland's Slaying of Mannfred von Carstein at the battle of Hel Fen in 2145, an astounding feat for which he claimed the lands of Sylvania, adding them to Stirland's already large territory. The livery of Stirland is mainly green with some yellow.

Bogenhafen:

Bofenhafen is a succesful market town near the base of the Greay Mountains. One of the wealthiest towns in Reikland in recent years, its mercantile guilds have shown a keen asuteness in their businnes dealings. Bofenhafen's proximity to the mountains combined with its wealth mean that raids by bandits from as far as Bretonnia are a constant threat. Bogenhafen maintains a large militia, and there are several state regiments stationed within its walls. The regularity of these attacks means that the Bogenhafen means that the Bogenhafen soldiery are accustomed to warfare and are respected in a way that the town's wealthy population sometimes are not. The livery of Bogenhafen is purple and bone white.

Hochland:

Hochland, like Ostland, has withing its boundaries part of the Middle Mountains and vast tracts of forest. Because of this it is often compared to its larger and wealthier northern neighbour: "Ostland's little brother" is a term frequently used, although not in Hochland. Despite their backward reputation, the people of Hochland are no less sturdy nor skilled than their neighbours and many of the best archer units originate there. Hochland is most famous for the hunting rifle, an ingenious weapon designed by the engineer Leon Todmeister. It uses complex engineering techniques to spin a bullet as it exits the barrel, extending its range to fearsome proportions. The livery of Hochland is red and green.

Ostermark:

Ostermark is the Empire's easternmost province, and shares its northern border with Kislev. It is a mostly rural state, since, unlike its neighbours, its soil is fertile and ideal for agriculture. The low-tech nature of Ostermark's major industries sometimes leads to its people being mocked in other states as simpletons. This is an unfair reputation however, as the people of the Mark are as stout and capable as those of any other province - if not more so, for Ostermark regularly sends troops to assist Kislev in its battles against northern invaders. As a result its forces are perhaps more hardened to war against the Chaos barbarians than any others in the Empire. The livery of Ostermark is purple and yellow.

Ostland:

The province of Ostalnd is heavily forested and the presence of the Middle Mountains means that much of the region is rocky and barren, home to Orcs and Goblins and worse. As a result the people of Ostland are a hardy lot, and have a reputation across the Empire being either admirably tough or coarse and uncouth, depending on who you ask. Ostland is renowned for its mountain men and rangers who are the most rugged of a rugged people, and the state contributes many highly skilled scouts and trappers to the Imperial Armies. The livery of Ostland is black and white with light blue plumes.

Reikland:

For nearly one hundred years Reikland has been the most important state in the Empire, for it surrounds Altdorf, the Imperial Capital, and its armies are those under the command of the Prince of Altdorf: the Emperor himself. The Reiksguard, pride of the state army and the most powerful and prestigious regiment in the Empire, are the bodyguard of the Emperor. The Emperor is able to provide his own state army with the finest of equipment and training available, and as a result the armies of Reikland are said to be the most disciplined troops in the Empire. They are famous for both their presicion coordination and their steely resolve: few foes can perturb the valiant men of Reikland. The livery of Reikland is bone white with red plumes.

Talabheim:

As a city-state Talabheim, located in the north of Talablecland, is independent of any state government. It is one of the most impregnable cities in the world, since it is built inside a massive crater, the walls of which are fortified heavily against assault. The only entrance to the city itself is a single tunnel, guarded at either end by fortresses, and it is this that makes Talabheim so easily defendable. The lands inside the walls of the crater also include smaller towns and farmlands to provide for the inhabitans, and so Talabheim's ability to hold out under siege is unrivalled. The livery of Talabheim is red and white.

Nordland:

Nordland is one of the less powerful provinces in the Empire. Much of what influence it does have comes from the fact that the Nordland Coastal Road is a far more appealing way for northerners to reach the wealthy port of Marienburg than trekking through the Drakwald Forest in Middenland. For this reason there exist many toll gates to extract the full price of fear from merchants willing to pay a small fortune for the relative safey of Nordland's roads. Nordland is also renowned for its navy. Some state regiments, including the famous Nordland Mariners, are expert at travelling and deplying swiftly by sea and are invaluable in intercepting fast-moving attackers. The livery of Nordland is blue and yellow.

Carroburg:

Carroburg is a large fortress-town near the Middenland-Reikland border. It is a wealthy town with a succesfull mercantile economy, but is perhaps known for the famous Carroburg Greatswords. This regiment mounted one of the most valiant defences on Imperial record when, in 1865, the Count of middenland led an attack on the town. The walls seemed set to fall but the Greatswords fought on, ignoring the most grievous wounds in their determination not to let the city fall. After the battle fully half of the survivors died of theour wounds, their white Carroburg uniforms stained red with blood. Ever since then the Carroburg Greatswords have worn dark red uniforms in honour of this feat. The livery of Carroburg is dark red and black with green plumes.

Middenland:

Middenland is one of the most important states in the Empire, both because of its size and prominence and also because of the fact that it contains the city-stae of Middenheim, which is the centre of worship of the Wolf God of battle, Ulric. This is the only cult in the Empire, aside from that of Sigmar, to have a vote in the Imperial elections. Combined with the Elector of Middenland himself, this effectively gives the area two votes, making it very powerful indeed. Middenland is home to the Drakwald Forest which is perhaps the most treacherous in the Empire, and as a result its soldiers are well accustomedto battling the likes of Beastmen and Orcs. The livery of Middenheim is mainly blue with a little white.

Averland:

As with Ostermark, Averland has an economy based mostly on agriculture. Unlike most states in the Empire Averland contains large stretches of open plain, and, while this land is not as fertile as those in Ostermark, many less fickle crops can be grown there. Averland has the dubious honour of defending the Black Fire Pass, which leads across the Worlds Edge Mountains from the Dark Lands. This is the clearest pass for thousands of miles and as such is a popular route for marauding Orcs and Goblins. As a result of years defending it, the Averlanders are held in esteem in the art of Siege defence. The livery of Averland is yellow and black.
