My champion saw his shot at glory and moved through the woods. He then unleashed his volley of 4 deadly pistol shits, all of which wounded and killed that nasty general dead.

Uh... what?  :icon_eek:

I have an artillary crewman that in his last 2 games has scored about 700 vp by himself.

Game 1 = Brets = A unit of knights errant broke my cannon crew and 1 guy got away. He rallied on the next turn on an unmodified 7 meanwhile across the board my pistoliers made a knight unit panic and run towards my back field. He fails to rally and they barely move. My next turn my lone cannon crewman charges them wildly with a cannon stuffer stick in hand. 4 knights flee into a detachment and die.

2 days later I play the brets player brother.

Game 2 = Dwarves = Turn 2, I didn't quit check line of sight on my cannon. It was kinda nestled behind a forest and declare a unit of hammerers to shoot at.

Him = do you have line of sight
Me =  uh oh I hope so
Him = you can pick a different target if you want
Me = nah I declared it, I'll take it

We check line of sight and i can only see his dwarf lord on the edge of the unit of hammerers. So I take the shot and I hit!... barely.

Him = I'll take my look out sir. Anything but a 1......@#&$% (1)
Me =  Hahaha.... Don't you have a Ward Save or something
Him = Oh Yea. 4+.....#*#$ (3)... Well I have 3 Wounds
Me = (6)........
Him = ......
Me = ......
Him = .....    Time for a smoke break

I look over and Guess whos manning the Cannon. After the game we decided he needed a purity seal or Something. I'm trying to come up with a cool name for him like... Billy King Slayer or Johnny Knight Stomper

Thanks guys, I love the man too.

I think that crewman knows how to do stuff too! But be sure to never "promote" him to the rank of engineer!  ::heretic:: ::heretic:: ::heretic::

It wouldn't be promotion to the rank of engineer, it would be a demotion.

I had a unit of Swordsmen get charged in the flank by 6 lizardmen coldone riders (one of which was a Scarvet) the Swordsmen didnt take a single wound then managed to chop all of the lizards to pieces. They all where up for promotion but the very next round they all got turned into goo by 6 salamanders.

Is that even possible?

If the swordsman unit was 30 (5 x 6) strong and the champ was in the corner then, yes. Even if the champ wasn't in the corner it would be plausable if the scarvet had lost one wound before the fight.

I had a free company dude who managed to slay a ratling gun crew who had been steadily killing the rest of the unit for a few turns.  The unit had gotten so far out that they couldn't make any contribution to the fight, so I decided to take out that gun if I could, and just barely managed it.  I've named the militiaman Mandred.   :engel:

My war machine crews have done some pretty amazing things.  They've managed to kill a few units of war machine hunters, but the best was where they fired a mortar round at a screaming skull catapult, scattered wayyyy off the mark, and got a partial hit on the Tomb Prince, killing him with two 6's... one for the partial hit, and one to wound (those tough bastards are T5!).  An amazing bit of luck... so my mortar crew has been converted to memorialize the occasion.  I even have a mummified head on a pole to represent the prince. :icon_mrgreen:

Of course, I have had many more men shame themselves.  So much so, that demoting them to robot horses would be too high an honor.

Let me tell you about the greatest shame my army has ever known...

One unit of knights (this was in the same battle as the miraculous mortar shot) was tasked with taking down the screaming skull catapult and overrunning into the Casket of Souls.  Should have been easy as pie.  They failed 3 consecutive fear tests to charge, and then, when the casket was finally unleashed (my anti-magic ran out!), it killed all of the knights but one, who panicked and fled like a sissy.

Four failed psychology tests in a row.  For this they have been forever dubbed the Feigritters (Cowardly Knights in german).  Their names have also been given to reflect thier cowardly nature:

The original unit was led by-

Wilfried Kleinehoden (Desires peace/small testicles):  He fled the battle and has not been seen since.  Arch Lector
Benedictus has placed a sizable bounty on his head.

The current unit is led by-

Bruno Kackehosen (Brown/Shit-Trousers):  The champion. He rides a giant chicken into battle.
Wendel Schmetterling (Wandering/Butterfly)
Florenze Blumenherz (Blossoming/Flowerheart)
Winfried Schlappschwanz (Friend of Peace/Wimp)
Klemens Friedenswiesel (Gentle and merciful/Peace-weasel)

(As you might have guessed I'm very big on ironic or silly names!)

I'll give them a white flag a chicken banner-top on it (halflings have one), brass breastplates (yellow bellies), and various wussy shield emblems.

Here's Bruno:

I tried to get the most pathetic empire head I could find... the guy least interested in actually doing any fighting.  I thought "big-nose" from the artillery sprue was just about spot on.  The silly hat is also a plus.  I changed the angles on this body and arms to give him a very "relaxed" posture, as though he's not particularly close to the battle, and just watching it from a distance.

Strangely, it gives him a sort of noble vibe, as though he's posing for a formal portrait.   :dry:

No point in having your portrait done if you're already painted.  :wink:

I actually laughed at that.

He's a bit ridiculous, really. And I'm not talking about the chicken, but about the helmet. Where does he put his silly hat when he puts on his helmet?

That's why it's such a silly hat.

Well technically, Bruno is not the knight who ran off the field.  That guy kept running and was never seen again, and the rest of those knights were slain.  Bruno and the Feigritters were actually supposed to commemorate the shame of that moment or incredible weakness.  Bruno has been given command of the unit and it is up to him to redeem it... or not.

Bruno will be unpainted until I can get the rest of the boys together.  That could be awhile.   :blush:

Over the summer I got a bit sick of army building and took a few months off to focus on other things (Mordhiem was one of those things).  And about a month and a half ago, I got sent to cleveland for work reasons, so unfortunately, it's been awhile since I actually got any converting in.  And since all my stuff had to be left behind, I'm stuck here without any warhammer stuff to build.

Bottom line is that I'm not sure when the Feigritters will be ready, but I'll keep youse guys posted in my army blog in the brush and palette as projects come along.  I may be going back to california for a short trip, or possibly for good, so if that's the case I'll give my army some more attention.

The hat would probably be folded up and tucked into his belt or a convenient pouch, if he ever found himself in a situation where he's actually be expected to fight.  The fact that he's wearing the hat, and not the helmet reinforces the idea that he's not actually going to be fighting any time soon.

And the hat's not really THAT silly.  The garrison cap Uncle Sam issued to me in the army was far sillier than this beret thing.   :closed-eyes:
