This is one of my favourite plogs. I'm very impressed by your colours, and how you manage to do both red and green so bright without the colours clashing. The metallics also look superb.

Thanks all! Your inspiring words and work on these forums means a lot.

Next is a big project. I seldom paint large stuff, will be interesting to start on the war altar I ordered the other day. Have not decided on the colors yet, but will try to keep it in line with my great swords.

He's shown 20+ already, so you already know what they'll look like - slowly go back a page or so, watching the pictures as you do so.....

Have been off the painting for a while. But now I´m back again, always a joy to find inspiration again  :::cheers:::! I painted upp some front rank halberdiers along with a standard bearer for my Hochlanders.

Pretty cool unit. Is the griffon standard bearer model actually supposed to be carrying the griffon standard or is he just there to look cool?

Excellant painting! Most of my army is painted as Hochland and unfortunatly it all tends to look more dirty green then crisp green. Just inspiration to keep trying.

I love the champion. Definite badass.
There are three things each man judges another man by;

1. The size of his codpiece
2. The amount of skulls he carries
3. The length of his feather

An amazing level of painting, sir. I have to write a comment as I wish I had the patience and skill to achieve a result like this. Bravo  :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap:!

He is there to look cool, I believe he would be a rule breaker carrying that banner in a unit of Halberdiers (with the new addition of the rules). "Hey, go get another banner" the champion says. He would not dare oppose that.

With head swaps I quite like the state troop models, the greatsword heads are more serious looking. I like them better, some of the state troops look too cartoonish. I just sprayed a couple more. With the use of a flaggelant head I believe I have managed quite well to get use of that state troop body without shoes. State trooper on the verge of lunacy, dirty clothing and all that.

Thanks for comments!  :::cheers:::

Very nice army, crisp highlights and nicely themed to boot. But it is the super clean free-hand banners that make me jealous.. Keep it up!

Errm, F.Y.I, I couldn't see your other banner in that unit, plus there was always the chance the guy is one of the models you might use for a BSB - I personally have two, I think. Both captains, one limited Ed. metal, one regular model converted with some command parts.

I wanted to create a angry looking champion for my greatswords  :icon_mad:. After a delving into masses of bits and sprues I finally managed quite well. That was quite a while ago. I am now enjoying a weekend on my own, with the family away, and have at last found the time to sit down and paint (on the influence of wine and snus). Hope you like! Head from handgunners, arms from knights with the sword exchanged for a bigger one.

This is a small crossbow detachment for a unit of halberdiers. I wanted these guys to look hard as nails! :icon_mad: Colour of their pants tie them to the rest of the army. The militia plastics are just great. Crossbowmen, archers or whatever you like! I will upload some archers soon too.
Yeah, the only problem is that you don't get command parts with milita!

Nice update!  :eusa_clap:

I can't paint at all after drinking even a little. I immediately get too tired.

Great looking state troops, and champ. I like the crisp sharp pics as well, they help to see the quality of paint job.

Dan Harden from the WD team just mailed me to tell that some of my work will be featured in WD Magazine in June!  A boys dream come true, I wish I could tell my 15 year old self. I'll tell everyone else instead  :biggriin:
